AAC Conference Tournament Thread

I know it is just dumb luck, but the AAC should be happy to have the championship game on Sunday. No casual fan watching UC vs UConn today would think of it as a 1st round game, especially considering the ACC started Wednesday. And Memphis winning just makes the conference look deeper. The AAC is holding its own this week. And after a good show today, college basketball fans will enjoy watching our conference final with few other options on Sunday.

Beat us 2x...... Why is that?

They're losing because DeCosey has 4 points on 1-7 shooting (plus 2 FTs). Against us, he had 19 and 22. Typical Cincinnati luck.

UCONN up 11 at the half. I hope the don't run out of gas, but really, whoever wins this game NEEDS to beat Memphis or Tulane. I just don't trust Temple the way I do UCONN to finish the tourney.

I didn't even have them in the next 4 out. Their metrics are awful. I get that they won the regular season title, but they also didn't have to play @SMU and won the league by 1 game.

If Temple is out, that's scary for us...they did beat us twice.

Our RPI wins are comparable to theirs:

We are 4-4 against the RPI Top 50; Temple is 5-5. We have a top 50 win against VCU, whereas all of Temple's wins have come inside the conference. In fact, Temple is 7-8 against the RPI 100 and ALL of those are AAC wins. We also beat GW, which at one point was a fringe Bubble team (RPI of 64). Our resume is better overall, but the glaring issue here is that Temple swept us.

VCU is going to beat Davidson with in the minute so That leaves Memphis and Tulane with the last two teams to steal a bid.

Eh, Akron has an RPI of 29 and plays Buffalo. So I wouldn't count them out if they lose...despite the fact that they haven't beaten anyone. RPI Top 50 and have 6 Top 100 wins. It just goes to show you how flawed the RPI is.

If Memphis wins tomorrow, I'm going to be scared to death. No way they take 4 AAC teams.
