I thought Harvey looked a tad better. He seems to not have much awareness that he can't get to the rack without creating space. He keeps getting stuck under the rim. He's been blocked about 75% of the time down there. He made a couple of nice moves tonight but also a couple of not so good. He is figuring it out...just like MAW will figure out when you can and can't pass the ball.

Just a guess, Jarron expected to get the superstar treatment his senior year to raise NBA stock, pissed that he was 4th leading scorer and only had 19 minutes against drake

Brannen’s going to have to make some accommodation for Jarron who should be deep into our record book by the end of the year. Jarron has earned some stature and I hope Brannen realizes that it can not be my way or the highway. This could be a special season if Jarron achieves all he is capable of. The alternative without him is to finish around 500 and break our tournament string. Given the options I am for Coach giving in some and recognizing that Jarron is not just another player. The most succcessful coaches have been the most deferential to players IMO. Sparky Anderson and Phil Jackson come to mind among others.

Aside from the last 10 minutes of the 1st half, it was a pretty good effort all around.

Vogt played a stellar game.

Tre looked like the confident and competent player of last year.

Jaevin made plays at each end of the floor

The younger guys all made positive strides.

One concern early on though is McNeal's outside shooting. He's 2-16 through 3 games from 3.

Outside of coach ensuring Jarron he can succeed more in his system if he buys in...I don't know. Coach wants to get him in ISO but not the way Jarron probably would prefer. CJB is probably just fine letting him launch 3's any time he has space (or not). Look at the shots Jaevin takes? Many of them are just egregious and not likely to be successful. Jaevin would probably be hitting 50% if he just took smart shots.

McNeal has had some pretty good looks too...

Keith is fitting in the system pretty well if he can keep his intensity up

Really questioning some early shots from way behind the arc (not just this game). We can get off shots way behind the arc at any time in just about any game if we take them from as far back as some of our shots have been. Why not run a little offense first and then later on in the clock go for a bomb?

I may be mistaken but Jaevin may have passed up a 2 on 1 break to go for a pull up 3 basically off the run from top of key. If we want to get more fouls...we need to take those to the hole.

There was a quote by McNeal after the Drake game about shooting only 3's and layups and FT's. I was happy to see Scott get going in mid range because that is a range he can get hot from. It's not what you are looking for obviously the mid range 2. But I don't mind certain players taking them if open. Scott is one and Jarron is one. Not Keith. Keith is doing exactly what he should be...shooting open 3's and going to the rack. Neither Vogt or Sorolla should ever shoot the mid range 2. Jaevin probably not since he can make 3's and can sometimes get to the rack but his passing close to the bucket was awesome. McNeal I would probably rather shoot 3's or go to the rack. But haven't seen much of his mid range game.

I have a feeling John Brannen would rather Jarron stayed in the draft.

Had that vibe way before tonight.

Don’t think the optics look well for Brannen if he can’t find a way to make it work with an all American.

Also don't think optics look well for Jarron if he's going to quit on his team when a coach doesn't coddle him.

Jesus Christ dude. I think they’ve got some issues to work out between them for sure, but what is with the constant bashing of Brannen. Give the dude a chance, we are 3 games into his first season

Waiting for any sign of trouble. Ready to pounce.

Both can be true. Both Brannen and Jarron have a lot to lose if they can't work together.

Jarron should still be able to go to the G-league if he doesn't play another game, but he would have no shot at being drafted.

Brannen looks bad for being unable to get his star player to play and also almost certainly misses the NCAA tournament (last nights teams didn't look close to an NCAA tournament caliper team). Considering we probably miss next year, two straight NCAA tournament misses (plus a new AD) would put Brannen firmly in the hot seat.

Maybe he actually tweaked his foot the other night and with Alabama A&M being not good and another 8 days until we play again, the rest might help. Just a thought.

Jarron has no choice but to submit to the coach. It's about as simple as that. It won't happen the other way around

I respect brannen for this...

But let's be real here. This team needs Jarron. Would love to see some former players pull him aside and talk

Saw a rumor Jarron refused to go back in the Drake game and getting benched this game was his punishment.

If that is the case, you gotta fully support Brannen on this. No player can act in that way.

I support Brannen on this in general because it seems to be an attitude problem. Jarron has to work. I know he didn't have to under the old coach, but you have to give effort for your teammates. He's letting them down if he's getting benched for attitude.
