Bottom line is we have to schedule better and win the games we schedule. At least some of them. I know people want to say we can't get games with the big programs but I'm sure we can get games with other top 50 programs looking for games. Those would help a lot right now

I know I keep saying it; but the committee has shown that it values top 50 wins over everything else.

We don't have enough of them. we have 3 if Houston falls out of the top 50 and 5 if they don't.

Based on RPI ranks here is how many top 50 wins teams ahead of us have:
1.Villanova: 10
2. kansas: 9
3. Louisville: 7
4. North Carolina: 5
5. Florida: 8
6. Kentucky: 9
7. Baylor: 9
8. Oregon: 4
9. Arizona: 4
10. Gonzaga:6
11. Florida State: 10
12. Butler: 9
13.Duke: 10
14. Cincinnati: 3
15. Virginia: 6
16. UCLA: 5
17. SMU: 1
18. Purdue: 5
19. St Marys: 2
20. Minnesota: 6

Now look at those numbers and tell me which 3 teams look like they don't belong? All 3 are from mid major conferences.

I love UC. But come on guys, were not being shafted. We don't have the resume. On both sides of us in the RPI we are surrounded by teams with double and triple the RPI top 50 wins we have.

Am I saying we couldn't beat some of these teams? No way. But I am saying, based on what the committee has shown to value, we don't have enough of it.

Like, it maybe better for us to hope Houston beats UCONN and then us lose to Houston to save energy AND propel Houston well into the top 50 so when they pull our team sheet, we have 5 Top 50 wins and zero losses to teams outside the top 50.

Because we if beat Houston and then lose to SMU, it does very little for us, except Propel SMU above us. if we beat them we gain a top 50 win, but we gain 2 if we lose to Houston

Agree with this. No one is out to get us. They don't care enough about us to be out to get us. Gotta win more.

Pregame.com's "Dream" Pod did previews for the power conferences...and once again the AAC was included (thats 3 I've heard and all 3 did the same 7 conferences...P7?). We are +155 to win the conference tournament and both the guys on the podcast picked us to win it. They love that we just played @UConn.

Going by RPI is the stupidest thing ever. All you have to do is read your 2nd last paragraph to prove it.

You're re-rating us based on the RPI.

RPI formula says we are 14 which is a 4 seed

I used the RPI forecast tool to show the RPI if Houston beats Uconn and then loses to us or if we beat them.

Houston beats uconn but loses to us: 50 in the RPI
Houston beats uconn and beats UC: 42 in the RPI
UC loses to Houston: 14 in the RPI (we hold steady but gain 2 top 50 wins)
UC beats Houston: 11 in the RPI with a fringe chance of 5 top wins, but any movement behind Houston and they are out of the top 50.

RPI formula sure does say that, but our RPI was very much the same when the committee released its top 16 seeds and.... we weren't included. And we weren't included because of our top 50 wins

Im not an RPI fan. I wish it died. But then again, RPI is the best metric we have going for us right now. Kenpom we are #20 so Im kinda glad at least right now that its what committee uses

Not saying they are great wins, but they are better than teams like Albany, brown, Texas southern. You were the one asking what gonzaga has done

Why are you comparing those wins to our worst wins? Gonzaga has a conference full of the Albany type wins. Apples to oranges.

I HATE THE RPI.

but my hate for it won't change the fact that committee still tracks top 50 wins by it.

And based on what the committee has valued, it would have been better for us to Beat Rhode Island and Butler and then lose to South Florida and Tulane.

They simply don't care about bad loses as much as they do good wins.

im not just making it up. They specifically released the top 16 seeds to give an early look on what they value this season.

They can't control those games. I'm talking about games we control. Look at their out of conference compared to ours and tell me it's the same. Come on man.

One thing we can hope for is that the committee looks at our kenpom and sees that we have 5 top 50 kenpom wins.

Even if we might only have 3 in RPI. But they go off those stat sheets until next season so... we will see.
