Help Support BearcatTalk:

I wonder if ESPN is going to do the weekly feature like previous years where each conference is broken down by teams that are "Locks", "Should be in", or "have work to do" to make the tourney. I think it was Eamonn Brennan that wrote it. It always seemed like he made the Cats situation more dire than it was. With the daily BPI and updated tourney info showing seeding, that might replace the above mentioned article.

Here is the first one: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bubblewatch

UC is the only "lock" in the American.

Iowa is a tough matchup for lots of teams including the Bearcats. Then again, with their lack of post season success and experience, our team is a matchup nightmare for them too.

NCAA Mock Selection going on today. Cincinnati was one of the 8 considered for a 2 seed, and ended up as the last 3 seed. They gave the auto bid to Louisville. If UC could win the conference tournament, they may be able to get to a 2 seed. I don't understand how the hell Kentucky is the highest 3 seed though, that doesn't make much sense.

Stony Brook wins America East, and Louisville beats Cincinnati to win AAC. Kansas over Texas in Big 12, Nova wins Big East. #MockSelection

It doesn't change that much really. 80% of your resume is done. To put it another way, if anyone would like to friendly wager that UC will be anything other than a 3 or 4 seed come selection sunday I will take those 2 seeds and give you the field.
I'll take that wager

How are we ranked 7th in country but a 4 seed, I know they don't look at rankings, but how we we aren't a two seed amazes me

We shouldn't be a 2 based on resumes, but you can make an argument for 3. We have very similar numbers to Virginia who got the nod as a 3 seed likely due to a SOS comparison. How San Diego State held on as a 2 is beyond me.

UC still a 4 seed now in the Memphis region starting in San Antonio playing Mercer, Iowa, Florida, then Duke.

Middle Tenn St. showing up in the bracket for the first time. If they get in, they could give a team a pretty good scare.

The A-10 is projected with 6 bids.

With a lot of back loaded schedules the last 4 in and 1st 4 out group could see a lot of movement.

UofL is #5 in the coaches poll and a 6 seed by ESPN.

UC is a 3 seed by bracket matrix which is much more accurate.

I like the bracket matrix too. The one thing to take into account is the current range of brackets/seeding sources spans the dates 2/10-2/16. Some of the brackets used (for example from 2/10) might not be recent enough to incorporate more recent big wins or losses. That's more for bubble teams like St. John's, that seem to be playing their way in at the moment.
