If you posted things more like this in this manner you wouldnt catch all the flack. That was reasonable, level headed and fair. You can critique the coach without forgetting all of his accomplishments. Well said.

JB, if you haven't noticed, if I compliment the coach, it's always insincere, backhanded compliment, has some super-secret agenda tied to it, etc., so why bother? If I'm going to take flack, I might as well get my money's worth and post something that's different than the same old stuff that always gets posted here. I'm far too invested in this program to want it to fail. I didn't agree with the firings of either Ed Badger or Tony Yates, so why would I want Mick gone. Last year hit me pretty hard and when we went down back to back to N.Mexico and X, I melted down, along with many others on here. In hindsite, I was completely wrong. Moving forward, I just want the current trend to continue and become the norm. I believe it will.

Simply not TRUE. As JB said its not what you say its how you say it. LT its not hard to see you're intelligent enough to know the difference. Plus you must also understand that many of us remember the many "fire mick" posts you've made. You were one who thought this season held an NIT bid. I sincerely don't think most people care that you're critical, I know I dont, it's that you're never positive. Like the man that says to the wife he loves, "yeah that's a pretty dress but your ass looks fat in it."

LT my above post was meant as an explanation not a criticism of you. I agree with JB the last post was well thought out.

Jeff, I'll bet you can go back as many years as you want and you won't find 5 posts where I ever said fire Mick. I'm not even sure I used those words after X. I may have said it was time for a change. But, I'm confident some will research that and let us all know. I post a lot more positive than you think, but since I'm one of the few that can actually see some fault with the coach and actually dare to post it on this forum, anything positive that I post is ignored or not believed.

A lot of Cincinnati fans think like me and the attendance figures bare that out. Mixed in with a sellout crowd against Louisville was a large number of Louisville fans. I want to see a day when our fans sell the arena out and Mick really needs to continue to do more of what he's doing this year before that will eventually happen.

First of all, time for a change does not equal fire Mick? I guess you just meant that you wanted Mick to retire?

Secondly, there were hardly any UL fans at the game. There are always going to be UL fans at UC games, regardless of how well UC does and how well they sell tickets. The percentage was extremely low. I went to many UC-UL games during Huggins glory years and there was always a UL crowd. That is just another one of your dumb comments that you hope no one calls you out on.

To equate attendance numbers to whether the fan base is behind Cronin is ignorant, to put it mildly. Others have addressed this on this forum, so I won't waste more time on this stupidity. UC also sold out against Houston and will sell out against Memphis. Is this because of a large number of Cougar and Tiger fans buying tickets? You have to be smarter than this, don't you?

As far as not finding posts asking for MC to be fired, you must be joking. You and Billy Don and Doss continually championed for this at Bearcatnews, and you have continued to do so here. Not using the actual words doesn't mean that that's not what you want. What's hilarious is that you didn't want Tony Yates fired, but you have known for 8 years that MC is not the answer at UC. Those of us who watch basketball and actually understand what we are seeing have been vindicated, and if we are lucky, Cronin will be here for another 20 years. So maybe you have finally figured out after all this time that you have not been proven right, and 'eight isn't enough.' One thing for sure, 'Mick Lovers' not only populate this board, but also the BOT and President's office at UC. At the end of the year he will sign a contract extension till 2021. Well deserved for someone who is a great ambassador of the University.

I guess all the groups of black shirts in the upper decks that I saw with my own eyes were just bearcat fans who forgot to wear their white shirts and just all decided to sit together and cheer whenever Louisville scored.. As for Houston, a sellout was announced, but at gametime, a complete section of empty seats were on each end of the arena. Thru the game, they filled in a little, but many empty seats remained in both sections for the whole game. I guess you didn't think I would call you out on your post either.

Louisville fans most probably bought those tickets early in the season. Especially after UC got off to a good start and it looked like a very meaningful game may be on the horizon. Also if you have never been to a Louisville away game I can tell you there is a lot of UC fans at that game. Louisville fans have always traveled to Cincinnati. Who cares if people didn't show up for Houston. It was sold out. Memphis will sell out. Fans our returning. Has it happened as quick as many would have liked, no.

You post a resonable post and then follow it up with this; and this is exactly why you take heat and may get may get banned for stirring the pot on the site. I will address the bolden comments:

You have called for Micks dismissal for years and I have seen you say he should be fired. But regardless, and has been pointed out, "time for a change" is certainly the same thing.

May people on this forum are critical of Mick at times. No they aren't constantly critical like you and a couple others but they are critical when warranted. They just use the common sense of balancing the criticism with a unique situation, i.e. a particular substitution, play, or game and keep in mind the big picure that this is a team still tied for first place with the defending national champion and who they were 2 seconds away from sweeping. We all recognize this team isn't complete, but we also recognize the good the coach does and has done for the past 8 years. Some of which isn't measurable in wins.

UL fans have always bought tickets as have X fans when we played them at home. That is exactly the backhanded comments you make to stir things up and to criticize. The problem is you think people are stupid and can't see past this. Your history reveals your intent. And let me say this: The fact that you supported Tony Yates and refuse to back this coach only proves that you have a personal grudge against Mick Cronin. I sat through Yates 3-25 (worse record since 1915) and 0-14 league record. He had a 41% winning percentage and his BEST record in a season was 17-14 and he only logged 2 winning seasons in his tenure but you call for a guy that has been to 3, soon to be 4, straight NCAA's to be replaced. By your own words, you have an agenda and therefore the next time you stir things will be your last on here.

I was in the upper deck. Maybe get some new glasses, it must be hard to see that far up from the first row you sat in. There were about 5 UL fans in my section. Quit making shit up.

As for calling me out on my post, when did I ever say anything about Houston? Nice try longtimer.

I think he's just trying to get a rise out of you. Seems like arguing for the sake of arguing and attention rather than any real discourse. It might be best to not engage him.

I know i got called out by saying GG couldnt start on a top 25 team, I still dont. Is he D1 worthy sure, but not on this level, he is 7th on the team in assist as a starting pg. As for Sanders he's the same sure hes D1 material I'm just saying these guys are just not good enough to be a starter and on a 7 man rotation in elite programsand a team that has been in the top 10. Sanders had a break out game earlier but other than that he's really not done alot. But I agree if this team makes any type of run in the tournament they will need big games from GG and Sanders I just dont think they can provide it on short notice come tourny time.

GO BEARCATS!

GG has had some big moments this year, but I see your point. In looking at the recruiting page is seems like the PG's that are being targeted will probably have, or have the potential to have, more of an impact than GG. I think the trajectory of the current recruiting classes is going in a direction that someone with GG's talent (and I agree he does have D-1 talent) would be more of a role player.

Thats not true, I was at the UC/UL game and there were a good amount of UL fans in attendance. More than enough to hear their CARDS chants. I was in 112 and had about 5 ul fans in front of me and pockets of them all over the place.

So how many would you say? I would guess less than 300 total, which would be about 2%. I'd hardly call that a large number of Louisville fans mixed in the the crowd. In the upper decks by me there were not very many, especially by me. There will always be around that many UL fans considering there isn't anything preventing opposing fans from buying tickets. Trying to pin it on Mick is his typical pot shot at Cronin.

I would say 1000. still only around 7% but enough to make some noise and in an arena that only holds around 13000 thats alot. But I'm not saying its cronins fault or it even matters...just saying there were a noticeable amount.

Weird. I didn't notice nearly that many and where I sit is usually where the opposing fans get stuck. Still I don't think that's very many considering it was a top 10 matchup and it's only 1.5 hours away. Again, unless they sell out every game based on season tickets there are always going to be opposing fans at games, especially when the opposing team is a short drive away.
