I would take sanders over lawrence

tough to evaluate Lawrence this year. He seemed to be coming on before the injury, now it looks like that set him back further than I initially thought. Still I think sanders sees too many minutes, I cringe when he steps inside the 3 point line. Give Lawrence some more time and I think he develops into the elite recruit we hoped for.

I don't understand the Sanders stuff. He rebounds and he defends. Plus on a good day he'll hit a couple threes. He's role player.

Completely agree. I think they got overconfident once they beat everyone in the conference. I think to them they showed they were tops in the league and were ready for the tourney. While I can't completely blame them because as fans we kind of were in that boat as well, in reality the season is not over and the conference is definitely not won. I also think all the role players are a little too comfortable with SK turning his game up. While I'm obviously ecstatic that SK is playing like a first team All American the rest of the team doesn't seem hungry to me. I almost would like this team to practice two days with SK sitting out just to get out of the habit of deferring to him. The second part of your statement I agree with as well. The Cats made their statement already. They are a lock for the tournament. Yeah there's still something to play for, but there's no do or die fight to be had. It's no coincidence that all the top teams are struggling right now and the bubble teams are coming up big right now. Hopefully we have enough fight in us to win Thursday and Saturday and win at least a share of the conference. That will be a major accomplishment for Cronin and the team and for the future. The conference tourney to me isn't as important as alot of people treat it. It would be great to win it but in the grand scheme of things your regular season champ is the best team in the league. Now if we end up in a tie with Louisville I would love to get a chance to beat them in the tourney final.

This is exactly what Mick Cronin said when he mentioned the team lacked humility. The bottom line is everyone is overanalyzing. The Bearcats have shot under 30% in the past 2 losses. Something that even for them is horrific. Credit the defense some but they'd been lax with the ball and missed a TON of wide open shots and their aggression toward the basket is non existent.

Troy Caupain has reverted to completely shooting jump shots. Offensive rebounds are being kicked out instead of attacking the rim. Shots not falling have eroded confidence and the team is tentative. 14 of the top 25 lost at least once (some 2-3 times) in the past week and a half. The sky isn't falling.

Kansas lost, Louisville lost, Creighton lost, St. Louis lost, San Diego St. lost, Duke lost, Iowa St. lost, Kentucky lost, Michigan State lost, Iowa lost, Memphis lost, Ohio St. lost, Texas lost, and UC lost. The team will get on track against Memphis and close with a win at Rutgers earning a minimum of a tie for the league championship. They will not continue to shoot this poorly.

Like I posted in the tie-breakers thread, as long as UC beats Rutgers they can't finish lower than the #2 seed. I am expecting them to win the conference regular season title.

I know buddy it's just funny how reality is lost on the couple that troll for the negative attacks. I actually think this re-energizes UC and JJ in particular.

It's called other team's making adjustments just like I said they would.. we are a terrible offensive team.. get ready to lose to memphis too. It's hard to watch them on offense and rubbles with a ball in his hand you got to be kidding... we will end up in the 5 12 match up and hopefully not be 1 and done disgusted Bearcat fan here

Totally off the wall statement and overreactive especially considering 13 other ranked teams have lost besides UC. The overreaction of a few never ceases to amaze me, especially when I remember many of them saying UC would be an NIT team. They should be estactic they're a lock for the NCAA.

San Diego State didn't lose this week but I understand what your saying here.

What a postgame from Coach. http://www.gobearcats.com/allaccess/

Cronin speaks the truth. I think our players will respond positively. It really is disappointing the effort and attitude from our players. They should know better. "We are arrogant without cause." "They were arrogant and got taught a lesson."
Practice should be fun for the guys this week.

All these negative posts are getting really annoying. People need to calm down, yes we lost yes we played bad but it happens we arent playing wichita's schedule we are going to lose a couple games especially when u have to play good teams twice. We have 5 losses and its march! We dropped to a 4 seed in palms latest bracket....not bad, we can still move up to a three or even a possible 2 if we win out. After each of the 5 losses everyone acts like we are so bad and what is cronin doing, the fact is cronin is doing awesome and we are a good team. When the ranking come out monday 4 of our 5 losses will be to ranked teams, along with 4 ranked teams that we beat. Remember how much everyone complained after the xu game, its losses like these that wake us up, yes we need guys to step up and they will. Cant wait till thursday we will be ready to go and are going to play great on senior night. We played terrible and still almost won at uconn, chear up our defense keps us in every game, and we will start hitting shots. No team wants to see us in the tourny the brodcasters even said that durning the game saterday

Some aren't negative they are over-reactions. I think most just want to see this team do well and they invest their hope in that. As I said though, many said this team was distined for the NIT and still complain when they've been proven wrong. Outside of a select few people are 100% behind this program, team and coach. A couple are behind 2 out of 3.

There's too much good going on to allow a select few to ruin a very good season still filled with possibilities.

Yes, I was pissed off to yesterday, it was very frustrating, it didn't help seeing all those top ten teams lose knowing we could of moved up so far, but I'm confident we will be fine. It took me a day to get over that game just because it coulda been an easy win. We will bounce back, it's not a bad loss at all uconn will be ranked, but it is one we shoulda won

I'm with you on your above comments. I have to admit it bothers me some that x had a big win on the same day...I realize it's irrational and the two aren't connected. I just don't like them.

I believe UConn was 30th in the rpi coming into the game so it was a missed opportunity but not a terrible road loss. Honestly, I think we will look back at this game much like the X game as hurtful, but a blessing in disguise.

Love the post game comments from Cronin. They got where they are with all out ass busting for 40 minutes and playing with a chip on their shoulder. I hope this loss pushes them back in that direction. Not a bad loss in terms of the resume and hopefully this was the kick to the chops they needed. Can't wait for the tourney!

like the idea of Mick trying to take some pressure off the kids and making it a lack of respect issue. In the end though if we stop turning the ball over we will play much better.

Jeff, I'm sure I'm one of the few you're directing this at. I can't remember if I predicted NIT or not, but this season has far exceeded my expectations, even if I thought an NCAA was possible or not. Mick is well-deserving of coach of the year consideration this season. I actually believe his coaching 2 seasons ago after the X brawl was even better. I obviously did not like his performance last season. In any sport, the buck always stops at the top. On this site, it's always some other reason than the coach when we lose. I love the program. I love the team. And, I like the coach. I love a lot about the coach, but his recruiting and lack of developing any offense since he's been here keep me from being overly excited at this point. But, his defensive coaching skills, his ability to get players to compete and play hard, his intensity, his graduation of players, the neat story of his relationship with his daughter, his loyalty to our program, etc. provide me enough great positives to think that the negatives will soon become positives as well.

We played as bad yesterday as I've seen us play all year. But, I haven't heard a single person suggest that the coach didn't have us ready to play. Again, he recruited these players who can't shoot, so he deserves some blame when they fail. But, from the other viewpoint, he has coached this group who can't shoot straight to the top 10 and a chance to win the league championship, even though we were predicted to finish 4th. What an amazing, amazing accomplishment that has been. If he starts getting some better recruits, and can continue to inspire the effort level that he gets out of players, we will soar. I'm behind him, but when I see things I don't like, I speak my mind.

If you posted things more like this in this manner you wouldnt catch all the flack. That was reasonable, level headed and fair. You can critique the coach without forgetting all of his accomplishments. Well said.
