The best starting line up this team has right now is TC, KY, Sanders, Clark, and Ellis. Sanders has had a calming effect and Troy is stepping up as a leader.

Personally I would like to primarily have a 3 man rotation in the post with Ellis shifting to the 4 when Deberry comes in Clark spelling Ellis, and Ellis moving back to the 5 and Deberry coming out. I do understand there may have to be some spot minutes given and foul trouble/match ups would effect things but that's what I'd like to see in the post.

On the perimeter, Cobb backs up Troy and gets some additional minutes at the 2. Mormon would be my 4th guard and get the least minutes unless he is hot. He plays too out of control imo but I love the guy and think limited minutes is what he needs to grow. Shaq backs up Sanders. A 20/20 split really wouldn't bother me here but again, the hot hand gets the minutes.

In the end My rotation would primarily be TC, KJ, Cobb, Sanders, Shaq, Clark, Ellis, Deberry with Morman getting minutes.

TC - 30
KJ - 25
Cobb - 15 - 20
Mormon - 5 -10
Sanders - 25
Shaq - 15 - 20
Clark - 30
Ellis - 30
Deberry - 15 - 20

Up to 20 minutes for DeBerry and 0 for Quadri? You're killing me! Another thing about Ellis and DeBerry in together...Ellis has no post game and DeBerry doesn't pass. I just can't see that working on a team that wants to play inside out. At least Quadri can stretch the floor.

I love Quadri's potential but he doesn't rebound and he doesn't play defense. Not saying he should never play there are teams he should and will play against. I'm just speaking in terms of game to game production.

I agree. I would love to see some kind of emotion out of him. He looks so blah out there.

I agree about Moore. I will say his rebounding has improved and I think by his junior year he could be a really good player, but right now he can't be counted on. We will need him to provide good minutes here and there and I think he can give that but if we're relying on him to be a difference maker we will be in trouble.

You guys don't think any intensity was there at all yesterday? I saw him grinding on defense. I think the coaches are working hard with him on that. He was in a good stance out to the 3 point line. That is an improvment. His early struggles had to have taken a toll on him. And freshmen can't hide it when they're having a hard time. But he has had some much better efforts lately. He was good at UConn and yesterday he was part of the lineup that got us back in it. He also kept shooting without hesitation. He has missed his first shot badly a few times this year, but he just kept on playing through it yesterday and ended up hitting a big shot. The fact that he hits 3s and makes free throws for his size is amazing. The toughness and defense factors can be addressed easier the more he sees the floor. I'm starting to trust him more and I think he's being used properly. It surprises me that only a few people on here feel the same way.

I don't feel like we mix and match our lineups as much as some are suggesting, in terms of guys playing multiple positions. Moore is the backup 4 behibd Clark. That is his role on the team. I'm not asking for any more, but there are some that would gladly take that away from him in a second. And I don't get that. Yeah he'll be good by his Junior year, but we're going to be able to count on him off the bench in some games down the stretch this year imo.

He played pretty well defensive yesterday. You can see the offensive talent but you can also tell he is a bit off from completing a bunch of plays. I still think his offensive ability will help UC win a game at some point this year.

I mean totally agree with you in regards to him playing "better" as of late. I think he could be playing a lot harder. He plays really upright and uptight. I won't go into a ton on him because he is a freshman. His upside is huge.

Like you said, he makes ft's but he has only shot 14 of them. A guy his size should have much more. I hope it doesn't take him til his junior year to realize he should have some kind of post game. His body is ready now to bang down low. The problem is he plays so upright, he doesn't use his size to an advantage. Everyone wants to be a jump shooter these days but that is not where Quadri will make a living.

I've seen him on the bench at games totally disinterested in the game, literally standing several feet away from the timeout huddle. I am a fan of Quadri, but it does concern me with the lack of focus and emotion in and out of the game

Exactly how I feel. I have no idea who he really is, or what kind of player he is yet. (too early to tell) but seeing signs like that is a little disappointing so far.

Yeah his post game could use some work. He doesn't get leverage like Clark does. Wasn't he heavier his soph and jr years of HS? Even at the weight he is now, I'm sure he didn't have to use his legs at all to dominate down low at that level.

Larry Davis said it best when he said they need to keep adding to the guys that provide consistent contributions. This team right now has no real margin for error. They can't turn the ball over, they have to rebound and not miss defensive assignments. If Quadri can be consistent he would be valuale because he has the ability to score. If he can't be consistent doing those things the team can't afford for him to be on the floor. That said I think he has a bright future, and yes I think he is getting better.

He will get better - and hopefully soon. I think I've heard Mick say that he really doesn't want to play Clark & Ellis 30 min/game. Moore needs to provide some quality minutes. He is improving on defense...he's a frosh - not yet automatic enough in all facets of the game to let it flow with confidence & the energy without waste that habituation provides. Kind of like a kid learning to drive a stick shift...concentrating on individual tasks like shifting, working the clutch, steering etc. not yet fully capable of more important skills like anticipating traffic moves, defensive driving, really quick texting, ok, strike that last one :).
I remember a few weeks ago, I was ready to bench the shot misfiring turnover machine that was KJ, and now he's looking really solid...and he's a sophomore - let's give Quadri a chance to do it right - we all knew there would be growing pains with this team until they play together enough to jell & that only happens with experience...it would be nice to have some blowouts to provide that experience but with this team, that's not going to happen often.
