Believe it or not, tonight is the kick off to conference tournaments. Thus begins the best 14 days of the year, IMO.

Tonight we kick off with the Atlantic Sun Quarterfinals. Florida Gulf Coast is the heavy favorite.

333 Division I teams are still alive to win the NCAA Tournament. Lets go!

Conference tourney week and the 1st weekend of the tourney are the best. My favorite of the year

Tonight we bid farewell to American, Lafayette, Longwood and Presbyterian all who lost in 8/9 or 7/10 games in the Big South and Patriot League respectively. Down to 325 teams!

Wow. 7 seed Campbell knocked out 2 seed UNC-Asheville in the Big South Quarters. Campbell had a kid score 51 points. Jeez.

So far 9 automatic bids have been claimed and 6/9 teams were either #1 seed or tied for the Regular season title.

Atlantic Sun- Florida Gulf Coast (#1 seed)
Big South- Winthrop (#1 seed)
Colonial- UNC Wilmington (#1 seed)
Horizon League- Northern Kentucky (#4 seed)
Northeast- Mount St. Mary's (#1 seed)
OVC- Jacksonville State (#4 seed)
Southern- East Tennessee State (#3 seed, tied for Regular Season Title)
Summit League- South Dakota State (#4 seed)
West Coast- Gonzaga (#1 seed)

If I'm Cincinnati I'd want Florida as the 4 seed should UC get a 5. The only downside is it would be in Orlando which is quasi-home game.

Really, not that many conference tournament upsets...a lot of the smaller conferences seem to be ending up with a 1 vs 2 seed...Big 12, neither Iowa St. nor WVa is a huge upset...ACC, when it's 3 vs 5 in that league, not a huge difference..they're all in anyway
In A-10 Dayton still in & ...does Rhode Island or Richmond steal a spot if they win? if winner is VCU, no bubble KO's there

Cincinnati got quite good luck with the OOC opponents this season:

America East Championship: (3) Albany at (1) Vermont
Conference USA Championship: (6) Marshall vs (1) Middle Tennessee State
SWAC Championship: (2) Alcorn State vs (1) Texas Southern (they have already clinched the AutoBid because Alcorn State is not eligible)
Big 12 Championship: (4) Iowa State vs (2) West Virginia

also...

Xavier made the Big East Semi-Final, Samford made the SoCon Semi-Final, and Lipscomb finished second in the Atlantic Sun.
