That's insulting but I'm glad after a 20-2 start you decided to come around and notice this team may not be pretty but it absolutely has winning intangibles. Not sure why after 3 straight NCAA appearances and a 19-2 start it took this game for people to notice this team is good, but I'm glad it's happening regardless.

Oh come on BCJ I was just joking around. No need to be insulted. I forgot the smiley face.

Let me put this another way. Before the game I was a believer that we had a very good team. Today I am a TRUE believer that we have something really special. Some fans already knew. I was on the fence ready to jump over.

We now have two HUGE wins on the road that many (if not most) fans thought we had no business winning. One time CAN possibly be fluky...but last night was the confirmation I needed to know that we can beat any team in the country when we want to.

All the loud and annoying X fans and UC bashers who have been flooding message boards/facebook/twitter/radio claiming UC is terrible and doesnt play anyone have crawled back into their holes where they belong:D

ST dunk was #5 on sports center top 10.

Nasty!!

How about that SK dunk? When's the last time he dunked on a fast break like that with a defender nearby?

How about that missed JJ dunk? That dunk may have been #1 on ESPN had he made it.

Wow. Have so many thoughts about last night. However Im too hungover to share them all. I'll say this. Last night's first half defensive effort was the best I've seen ever. On the road vs a top 15 club we simply were stifling against a team that averages 80 points. We obviously know we are really good defensively but that was final four good defense. Fun to watch. Scariest thing about the cats is the offense is developing. Confidences are growing. Guys are getting to the right spots and are taking good shots. (Minus the occasional SK 3 early in the shot clock). SK is playing like an all american. Justin's dimension completely opens things up. GG hit two big 3's. Shaq was the hero in the first half. Jermaine hits some big shots. Caupain running the show at a high level. Titus is doing everything. This offense is getting better and becoming very good. Scary special potential right now. Finally the toughness. To withstand a 14-0 run in that environment and win is crazy. Have to be so proud of the guys. Toughest team in America. Oh and I'll say it. Mick Cronin coached his ass off last night and out coached Pitino. I hope this is the game that gets the casual fan or the Huggins guy back on the bandwagon. What a great time to be a bearcat basketball fan.

When I woke up this morning I had to pinch myself. What a team we have here. Just so proud of then all. Good guys and good players. We are very lucky as fans to get the chance to cheer for them. I will be there Sunday and Thursday an can't wait to cheer regardless of outcome

Anyone catch Micks comment after the game? Katz asked him what a win like this means for the program. Mick basically said this is what our program expects. Our program has championships and final fours. He said this is a good win to go along with all of that. I loved it.

I have many of the same thoughts. Win or lose this game was going to be a great lesson for the freshman of the kind of toughness it takes to win big games. They're seeing leadership at such a high level from Mick and the senior class that it's going to impact the culture, for the positive, for years down the road.

Winning on the road in conference is hard to do especially against a top 15 team in front of 22,000+ fans. The big time programs manage to pull it off though. How awesome is it to say that UC is the type of program that does that?

No doubt, Mick out game planned and out coached Pitino.

Anybody know what pitino said to mick after the game....it looked like some sort of snide comment

Looked as if justin Jackson was doing a little jawing at the end of the game. Pitino didn't take a liking to it apparently and said something to Mick. Reason I say that is one of our assistant coaches told Jackson to settle down after he got through the line of coaches.

If that's the case what a joke, if his team was celebrating to the sidelines and talking trash after the game I doubt he would say something to his players at that moment to settle them down....just another reason I'm not a fan of Pitino

This is not meant to stoke a political argument. I just thought it was kind of a cool shout out:

Rob Portman ‏@robportman 41m

Congrats @PrezOno and #BearcatNation on big victory last night over Louisville. Possibly headed to a Top 10 ranking.

Santa J. Ono ‏@PrezOno 38m

“@robportman: Congrats #BearcatNation on big victory last night over Louisville. Possibly headed to a Top 10 ranking.” Thank you Senator!

Great win by the Cats last night. I thought it was interesting that we used such a small rotation. KJ didn't get of the bench until the final minute of the game.

A ton of credit goes to Mick and his game plan in this win. He has always seemed to have Pitino's number when it comes to game planning. I thought the adjustment he made with Rubles bringing the ball up the court against the press was interesting. As long as Harell was guarding Rubles it made sense to have Rubles bring it up the floor. A lot of people were questioning that decision but I think it was actually a brilliant move by Mick.

Just a great win all around. As a fan what more could you ask for? UC will be in the top 10 if we can handle USF. We were the lead highlight of the night on ESPN and now the hype is back. Let's keep going, time to start thinking about a 2 seed or dare I say a 1 seed.

GO CATS!!!!

I said it last night, but it deserves repeating. The job Mick Cronin has done thus far has been extremely impressive. Coach Year candidate.

Don't you love how that clown tried to make it seem like UC is some up and coming program when he asked "What does this win mean for this program?" and Mick shut him down. Classic.

I loved that NTS. Mick handled like a pro and informed him this isn't our first rodeo.

Looked like he was referring to Rubles but I think it was about Jackson. He said "That guy is a F@cking asshole" and then Mick is seen apologizing.

Seriously patino, your better than that. Look at your man Montrezl Harrell he looked like he won the Super Bowl every time he scored. Sorry patino your not better than us and u lost in front of 23 thousand Louisville fans, deal with it

I thought we looked better with GG in this game than TC for the first time. TC was looking like a frosh

I've said it multiple times in defending Guyn on here. His handles are much better than Troy's. The one thing Troy really needs to work on in the offseason is his dribbling and handling the press.

On that same note, it was frustrating watching Rubles handle the ball so much, but I agree with the stategy of having a big have to defend the dribble as opposed to a guard. Rubles looks herky-jerky when he dribbles, but he doesn't turn it over that much considering. Ask any 4 in the nation to bring a ball up-court and few would do it better than Rubles under pressure. Louisville is just that one team that you have to accept that you are going to turn the ball over against. Their pressure is nuts when the refs let them play.
