Also...I love how far Cronin has come in regards to respect. He was all over the ref's as*es tonight and the refs let it be. 4 years ago...that would have never happened.

True, I thought one of the plusses of moving into a new conference would be that Mick was an established coach and not the new kid on the block. I thought the refs showed alot of restraint for not T'ing him up. I thought he was going to punch that ref.

I've said it multiple times in defending Guyn on here. His handles are much better than Troy's. The one thing Troy really needs to work on in the offseason is his dribbling and handling the press.

On that same note, it was frustrating watching Rubles handle the ball so much, but I agree with the stategy of having a big have to defend the dribble as opposed to a guard. Rubles looks herky-jerky when he dribbles, but he doesn't turn it over that much considering. Ask any 4 in the nation to bring a ball up-court and few would do it better than Rubles under pressure. Louisville is just that one team that you have to accept that you are going to turn the ball over against. Their pressure is nuts when the refs let them play.

Guyn struggled a bit early and was yanked by Cronin. What I liked was that he didn't get down on himself and came back strong. His two 3's were big.

Nasty!!

How about that SK dunk? When's the last time he dunked on a fast break like that with a defender nearby?

How about that missed JJ dunk? That dunk may have been #1 on ESPN had he made it.

When he did that I knew this team had come to play. You can tell yourself you approach every game the same, but realistically you have to pump yourself up a little more when playing a big time game on the road. When SK threw it down instead of his usual lay-in it was an emphatic, "We came to play, tonight!"

Anyone catch Micks comment after the game? Katz asked him what a win like this means for the program. Mick basically said this is what our program expects. Our program has championships and final fours. He said this is a good win to go along with all of that. I loved it.

I liked that comment, too. Kind of a been there, done that. Let's you know where Mick's head is in the grand scheme of things.

I'm not sure where those Pitino comments about Rubles being a "f-cking asshole" became official, but I don't think that's what he said to Cronin. After watching the replay it looks like he said about 3 words. He might've just said "watch him" or something along those lines. He was clearly upset about someone (probably Rubles) though.

If we could just take back 3 minutes of the game where we couldn't do anything right...it was a VERY solid overall performance. We did get rattled there for just a little bit...but we calmed down and got back to business.

The veterans played so well last night

SK...those free throws to ice the game were money
JJ...he made two HUGE plays at the end of the game
TR...was all over the court doing everything
ST...he's starting to get into his groove...his attitude is changing
JS...played solid D and made a big 3
GG...played solid D and made two big 3's

Oh and Cronin...he coached a great game. He had his team ready for a dog fight in a hostile environment and we put the peddle to the floor early which set the tone for the night.

I was on cloud 8 until last night...

He definitely said "That guy is f@cking asshole" Went back and there were bunch of tweets talking about it. It's not a big deal. Many people say things out of frustration when they have just lost a highly competitive contest.

I think he was talking about Harrell ;)

Mick on the bus ride home after the game:

“We didn’t even watch it on the bus on the way home,” he said. “They were singing for 30 minutes and telling jokes and then they wanted to put in a movie. (At one point) our bus was smoking and we had to pull over. Shaq Thomas was running off the bus. He thought it was going to blow up."

Haha, this is great!

Obviously this interview came just after the game ended so he was frustrated, but that was a very dick answer to the guy that asked why Blackshear only played 5 min. People all over UL's forums were wondering the same thing. Didn't seem like a bad question at all.

It was weird bc Blackshear started last night and played 31 minutes last night.

Appreciate the info. Any chance you could give a brief summary on what was said?

Sitting at my desk at work and my computer will not allow me access to listen.

One quote was "People don't realize when people know each other really well, you're allowed to say things to each other that others wouldn't really understand." Sounds like Pitino definitely said something about Rubles, and Cronin just sugarcoated it.

Mick needs to seperate himself from Pitino... At the very least stop mentioning how they are freinds on air/online... Pitino is a clown.

I kinda figured Pitino said something like "Thats a f***** great game" and people misunderstood it.

He was pissed about Jackson, who was talking to the bench a lot throughout the game.
