Cincinnati/Xavier Press Conference Tonight

I liked it at US Bank. Too bad. I remember Mick publicly stating over and over he didn't want to go back to Cintas.

The way Cintas and Xavier has disrespected Cronin, the team and our university I would never step foot in that building. I wish Cronin had more pull in this bc it was obvious he wanted to stay at US Bank, with good reason too. I just hate constantly feeling we just give in a cater to eggs. They simply don't deserve a second of our time or energy.

Technically, I think Cintas is in Evanston, but parking is in Norwood.
cintas is not in Nowood. X is in Avondale. The confusion is because. Unlike when I grew up there many homes in Norwood are used for rental properties. Many go to X. Students.

Games that are UC home games will be played in February during ESPN's Rivalry Week (they must have been reading my posts because that is what I was pushing for), maybe I should take over as Athletic Director...

If you can get us a new arena i'll support you for AD

Sounds like Mick Cronin is going to be a good soldier on this, regardless of whatever personal opinions. I appreciate that and I'll get on board with the decision.

I dont post often, mainly just during basketball season, but I have a very reliable source who I completely trust.

He told me that Cronin tore up his contract extension while storming out the door saying, "They made the decision without me so they dont need my input."

Again, just passing along what I heard form someone I consider reliable so dont shoot the messenger.

If this is true and Mick Cronin leaves, I will be calling for Bohn's job. Cronin is more important to this program than the Xavier rivalry. Obviously we will see what happens...

UC will regret moving the games back to Cintas. When has there ever been an incident at 5/3rd? Its all at Cintas. I would be livid if I were Cronin. I am for playing Eggs but we should have stuck to our guns and kept it downtown. There is nothing positive about playing it at Cintas and always screws UC in many different ways. When is the last time we received a fair game? When didn't we receive racist banter and pure disrespect at Cintas?....crickets...crickets..

This is going to be a PR nightmare for the University, how do you not support your coach who brought you back from nothing. Regardless of any thoughts on where the game should be played personally, trust your coach, or you're not going to have him for long.

I truly hope Cronin was not ignored on this. He is so important to this program. I like that it is in rivalry week again, and I just pray there is not another incident.

And can we please stop arguing about whether X is in Norwood? I don't know if it is, but I do know there is nothing I care about less.

Sorry, but I care. Norwood will always be home to me and I don't like it misrepresented.

I liked the idea of US Bank Arena but it clearly wasn't working. First, US Bank Arena needs a seriously overhaul and second, the "home" team should have had the game be part of their season ticket package while the rest of the tickets went to the general public.

Agreed. The attendance to the game this past season was around 10.5k. The stadium holds around 17k. That's pathetic.

It seems a little weird that the contract extension, or a draft, which would have been blessed by the board (I'm guessing that's the process) has been sitting idle on Cronin's desk for signature. Wouldn't there have been more information that leaked out about the contract sitting with Cronin and that he hasn't signed it yet? That would have been an intriguing story even before the crosstown shootout stuff.

I completely agree that US bank wasn't "working" in terms of excitement and all. But it was keeping UC from dealing with Xavier's constant bait antics. It was quite obvious Cronin had zero interest in playing at Cintas and it was quite obvious Xavier wanted it on campus. Every problem that has happened in the shootout has been at Xavier and yet UC continues to cater to them. I wish UC board, AD, and Prez Ono would grow a pair and stand up against Xavier. I'd tell sleeze bag Mack and Father Graham to go piss off. The school has never show UC one ounce of respect.
Kinda funny how Cronin hasn't made any statements on this.

Cronin has talked about it in print. He also may have been on with Bill Cunningham today. Not sure.

Mick was on the radio today. He called into Willie's show impromptu. He was not available yesterday or to call into shows because he was spending time with his daughter. I will NEVER fault someone for putting their family first and I applaud him for this.

Mick said he really didn't care and he was pissed about some irresponsible bloggers putting stories online with no basis in fact. Mick said he wants a new arena. He's not concerning himself with small things like this.

Reading between the lines, I think Mick is not jumping for joy with the shootout news but I think he has bigger fish to fry and is focused on those things more than this little game.
