UC deserves to stay in the top 25. They do need a win this week on the road. It'll quiet the doubters. Now to Ralph's post.

Whether you like Bob Huggins or not UC was a perennial Top 25, sometimes top 10 team. They were not only respected they were feared because of their effort and tenacity. I actually thought a year before the Nancy/Huggins incident that it was time for UC to move on. The national perception made it difficult to recruit and the player issues were tiresome. However, nobody can dismiss the fact that Bob Huggins is a great coach. I believe he is the 5th winningness active coach and has won everywhere and been to 2 final fours. He restored UC to prominence. That was lost in how the administration handled his dismissal.

Mick took over a horrible situation and is restoring what was lost. It's admirable what he has done under the circumstances. I hope he has continued success this season and is here for a long time. If he isn't, he has laid a strong foundation for future success. The program is in worlds better shape than when he came in. I admire and respect that and the people nationally that are worth their salt do too. I will never understand those that think you have to hate one to like the other. I like them both.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!

Good post Broseph.

Only idiots would disagree. Yes, I'm calling people idiots.

Rarely are things easy to understand when emotion comes into play, but your post is perfectly accurate and reflects the respect everyone had for Huggs as a coach.

Only those with small deecks cannot accept it.

For those with small deecks, move on.

Hahahaha... small deecks? :D

There's no doubt UC is slowly gaining back national respect on the court. Off the court the amount of respect this program has recovered is off the charts. I've always felt Bob Huggins is in a way like a Mike Brown (don't crucify me with that statement, let me make my point  ). He's not afraid to take a chance on a kid, even if he's made a mistake in the past, if he truly believes he can reform. I think in a large number of these cases, they do... but there are the handful that aren't able to, for whatever reason, and shed a bad light on the institution, program and coach they represent.

For the record I love both Huggins and Cronin... I root for WVU most of the time whenever they aren't playing UC. With that said I'm not sure Cronin is all that much like Huggins as a coach. I'm not old enough to know what kind of coach Huggins was when he first got to UC and was in the same age range as Cronin, though.

SMall deecks trash talk?? Thats why he is only the 3rd best poster on BCT/BCN

The committee picks the 37 best at large teams, conference membership is never a consideration, meaning therre is no limit on how many teams from a conference can be picked. Go to NCAA.org to read the rules for selection.

True- hey whats the most the Big East has ever gotten? I really dont know.

It's probably still too early in the season to tell, but at this point in time, I see 10, maybe 11 legitimate teams that are worthy of a trip to the big dance.

If eight are all that will make it from the BE, then so be it.

I think UC wins its next 3 games (2 road, 1 home). They'll be in for a dogfight @ WVU, and lose to Pitt.

Realistically, UC is a 22-23 game winner this year. They will be the last team in the BE to make the tournament at around a 10-12 seed.

I missed this earlier. When talking to UC friends/fans and they bring up how they hate Nancy, I've always thought that maybe it was time to move on. They think that's the dumbest idea ever.

UC still deserves to be in the top 25. Their 2 losses would be considered "quality" losses since both teams are in the top 5. It sucks that they are also conference losses, but the Cats will be ready for them the next time they meet.

Dang.........do I really sound like that big of a "homer"?

Believe WVU plays here and the Pitt game is away.

Being a 12 seed will suck for anyone. "play in game" and then have to play Friday, tough task for the 12 seeds. I think the 12 over 5 wont be as common anymore.
