Conference realignment stuff

Help Support BearcatTalk:

Not only did you state UConn and UC to MWC for football you stated Houston and SMU to the MWC and that is not happening either.

You should sign up for my conference realignment 101 class.

Houston and smu are going to the mwc. I did not state anything about uc or uconn personally. Nice try though mr wrong

But Ralph said the big 12 isn't expanding?!?!? How can this be. Oh ya Ralph has been wrong on every conference expansion related issue possible

Once again you read an article and believe it is factual instead of mere supposition. The article supposes FSU and Clemson would leave the ACC for the Big 12, they will not. No ACC school will leave for the Big 12, only the Big 10 or SEC. Therefore, the Big 12 will stay at 10 as no other schools move the money meter. You have so much to learn about conference realignment, you really need to sign up for my course.

Unequivocally horrifically incorrect as usual

You are the Manti Te'o of this board when it comes to realignment

Bearcat Mick, as always, wrong on conference realignment. Houston and SMU staying in Big East, not going to MWC.

Big East 2013 football schedule released today for UC:

Home: Connecticut, Louisville, SMU, Temple

Away: Houston, Memphis, Rutgers, USF

Conference realignment talk is all the rage. Big 12 expansion committee meets Monday and Tuesday, January 28 and 29.

Per the telecast of the ND vs Georgetown game, the ESPN announcers said ND has a big announcement to make on Feb. 1.

You said the big12 wasn't expanding because "everyone is happy with their money and more teams equals less revenue"

Once again, the Ralph is horrifically wrong regarding expansion

If I had to pick, I would choose the ACC. I think UC fits better there. That said, anything is better than the Big East right now.
Jason, I think it will be the ACC. That said, I would perfer the Big 12 I love both Hoops and Football. I think the big 12 offers us mch more in football especially going forward. They also have a strong basketball league. I think the city of Cincinnati is a football town. Give them a good schedule and they will come. Many talk about us not being able to compete. I think just the opposite. We are a hotbed of talent at the high school level. If we were serious about building the program we would get these kids to stay home.

1) You do not believe in your own predictions

2) where in my post does it state the Big 12 is expanding? I posted they are having a meeting, I never stated they were going to expand, they have an expansion committee meeting every 3 to 6 months mostly to drink coffee and eat donuts

3) you were wong again on SMU and Houston, both are staying in the Big East, the 2013 Big East Football schedule was released on Friday

The Commissioner of the Big 12 was on Dallas radio this morning, this is what he said:

Bowlsby says "We are happy at 10 teams"

Bowlsby says "I don't think we want a post season championship game"

Bowlsby says "Expansion would dilute the revenue. "

Well.........................! as always the Ralph is correct and Bearcat Mick is wrong just like the sun rising in the east and setting in the west you can make book on it.

Huge re-alignment moves are about to be made at some point soon by the big 3 conferences. The ACC looks like it is going to get gutted. The Dude of WV says Virginia to the Big 10 is "A done deal" and should be announced in a "Matter of days"

http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1463673

The Dude of WV is usually clueless, same with Greg Swaim. They're just guessing. Although I have no doubt something will happen in the next couple months in regards to realignment, I'm not going to listen to any of it until I hear something official.

"schools such as Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech could be persuaded to join the Big 12 while having each other as regional partners, the league would be at 14"

That would be interesting. What would happen to all of those left over schools? Would they try and grab UC and UConn? Would Syracuse and Pitt come crawling back to the BE?

I like a plan where the b12 expands and we go with UConn! I don't like the sound of going to another conference that just might fall apart. If I were the B12 I would expand to 16 and raise exit fees to $50 million dollars.

Syracuse and Pitt definitely won't come back. I agree Big 12 seems much safer but at this point beggars can't be choosers. If ACC calls, you take it without hesitation. Though a lot of people are worried about it, I think the ACC will remain strong. I don't see the Power 4 conferences happening for a long time, if at all.
