RB from St. X who has shown some very good ability to run the ball in the Big East might be moving to cornerback.

With our need at RB and being the class of the Big East in his hometown I wonder if he would consider transferring back. He would have 2 years I believe.

Valid question. With Strong just coming in, I would think he'd give the new coach/situation a chance to see where he might fit into their plans. If there was interest by him (and I haven't seen anything to suggest it), I don't see him doing anything for awhile, as he'd have to sit out a year anyway.

The emergence of redshirt freshman Jeremy Wright at running back has led to potential major change in U of L's backfield. Sophomore Darius Ashley lined up at cornerback in today's practice marking the first time since junior high that he's played defense.
"We have a stable of great running backs already, we're trying to get talent some other places," Ashley said. "I never played corner before so I'm just trying to pick up on it now."

Ashley said U of L coach Charlie Strong asked him about making the move last week. Despite it being his first practice wearing the white jersey, defense coordinator Vance Bedford still found a way to challenge Ashley.

While Ashley addressed reporters, Bedford walked past the group -- never breaking stride -- and let everyone know off top where Ashley needed to improve.

"Why you talking to Ashley? He takes two snaps he can't breathe," Bedford said. "Why you talking to Ashley? He's out of shape. He's out of shape that's all I got to say."

I'm gonna have to pass On Ashley, unless Yancy dons some football gear and blocks for him at RB. Couch meet Potato.

????? I saw him a couple of weeks ago, didn't look out of shape, checked with my Louisville friends, they are puzzled about the move, but no one mentioned him being out of shape.
Ashley is a hard runner, moving him to CB makes no sense, although his best friends are still on the team, so I don't see him leaving.

His coach may have been just giving him some crap. I have no idea what he looks like/shape he's in. I was simply using it to crack on Yancy. I have little time for the 'won't do's'.
