The author is a moron. Because Mick is a paid coach within the system he can't have a opinion about the student athletes. Everyone with half a brain knows it is not about the athletes but the dollar. Because Mick is employed and paid well he shouldn't speak out against it. I think putting himself on the line for speaking out deserves some respect. The author indicates because he benefits from the system he should shut up and not point out the flaws. Guys a idiot.

“I work 12 months a year. I have to raise $250,000 a year to run our program at the highest level so we can travel like other teams.

“The problem is that there’s not enough money for women’s sports and Olympic sports…the economy has trickled down. The states give less money to universities. Universities give less money to athletics. So everybody’s just, well, let’s change leagues because we can solve our money problems.

Amberly I have no issue with your point of view. Don't agree with it but your certainly entitled to it. I would suggest opening up your thought process a bit and it may help explain why so many disagree with you. two things stand out for me.

1. Mick recruits the best players available regardless of nationality

2. He has done a good job leading the program. Does he have room to improve. Sure!!! I also bet he would agree with that. For the stability,and the price he has been a very good Coach for our team. While I think everyone would like to be ranked top 10 every year with a realistic shot at a championship that is not realistic. Look at Kentucky didn't even make the field after being ranked top 3 and winning last year. As long as playres aren't locked into staying in school Coaches will have to reload constantly. Again we have a ways to go but we are making progress and Mick has done a good job to this point.
