I think if LeBron would have signed an extension last year for the same less money he is willing to take to go to the Heat, the Cavs would've been in a position to make a move for a big free agent pick up this offseason. I think Bosh or Stoudemire or possibly Wade could have easily been persuaded to go to Cleveland if LeBron was already in the fold. His decision to become a free agent kind of handcuffed Cleveland's ability to improve itself this offseason and thus took them out of the running.

With that said, LeBron is a grown man and can do whatever he wants. I can't blame him for wanting to play with Wade and Bosh. He's got an immediate chance to win, which is what he wants.

I heard that there was a legit sign and trade to deal in the works to get Bosh to the Cavs to play with Lebron. Bosh nixed it though.

Bosh publicly stated he did not want to go to Cleveland. Rumors have circulated that a lot of other players feel the same way. The city itself has a very poor reputation nationally (weather, economy, night life, etc.).

A big factor to consider is no state income tax in Florida (Texas is another state with teams in the NBA like this but they were not in play here). I heard today Lebron is saving $5M a year just by relocating to Florida. Other players are cognizant of this as well. That's a huge difference when you consider the other factors.
