Disappointed, But I see a Light

I also like Wilks. His athleticism is scary. The only player that I could be ok with losing would be Biggie.

I think most of us agree that Wilks has value as a 3. I think he has low value as a 4.

Unfortunately, the only way he could play is to take minutes from Lance or Bishop.

Logistical question: Do you need a 4? Can you run an offense designed for more than one 3 at a time?

Yea??

I would think that would spread the floor and leave open shots and opportunity to drive the lane. Also allows to get more transition points ala UAB, and Mizzoo

Guess the question comes more at the defensive end...

Wilks has the athleticism of a 3 but that is about it. He can't guard a SF, he can't shoot off the dribble, nor can even really dribble with turning the ball over. I like Wilks' attitude, but unfortunately he is not a good basketball player. Such a shame since he has unbelievable hops. Thought his feet are so slow and his footwork is so bad that it kind of negates his athleticism.

I tend to agree more than disagree with you.

Consider that a huge compliment. :)

I would be surprised if Biggie/Wilks did not transfer.

Go to a lower level and do some good things. Biggie to any mid major. Wilks to an average A-10 type school.

Cleveland Melvin (6'7" 210lbs) just parted ways with Uconn. Uconn wanted him to play the 4, but Melvin wants to play the wing. Melvin selected Uconn over Memphis, Seton Hall, South Florida and DePaul.

Scout.com has the 6-8 Melvin as a three-star and the 40th-best PF, Rivals has never heard of him and ESPN.com grades him a 40, the equivalent to Rivals rating someone they know nothing about a two-star.

17 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks a game for Lake Clifton (Baltimore) as a senior in 2008-09.
Now plays at Notre Dame Prep (home of Killa).

Any chance we make a play? I'd prefer a shooter, but who knows....

Yeah if there is a shooter out there we need to find him. Plus a transfer has to sit a year regardless.

Sounds good, but you are right. Desperately need a shooter on this team.
