It's hard to get up for crap teams when you are in a garbage league. It happens, especially in college but even in the NBA regular season. It's a grind and, when you are that crap team's super bowl, you'd better get up for it or you might lose. Troy being sick didn't help but they all needed to be more assertive on offense. I'll take a win like that over a loss all day. And don't forget, even that UC team in 99-00, ranked #1 in the country, struggled to win some games on the road that should have been blowouts. The DePaul "No one shoots until Kenyon touches the ball" game is just one example. UC crushed them at home and, I believe, Kenyon had a triple double. On the road, different story.

Oh Jason. Nice try. That DePaul team in 99-00 made the NCAA Tournament and you want to compare them to the ECU team we just played? Hahaha, like I said, no sense of reality.

On a lighter note, how many times of you heard this from the game announcer? "Pocket picked by Quadri Moore "

Nicely done, Quadri!

I will take conference road wins any way we can get them. I would also like to see a little more movement and scoring on the road but won't complain about wins.

Take care of home games and battle on the road. We have history of Cronin in March but each year is a new year...So I will judge him on March... When the time comes. Right now I like where we are sitting. There will be more ugly wins...But hopefully no bad losses.

8 game winning streak. 5-0 in conference with 3 road games. It could have been prettier...But even the best teams are going to go through some head scratchers in conference.

The team will never please all the fans. Some have unrealistically high standards. As soon as one problem issue is put to bed another will come up. I am convinced we could beat a team 100-10 and they would find something to complain about. A missed shot...A travel...A substitution etc...

Okay but...that's not at all what happened yesterday. I get the whole "don't take a conference road win for granted" thing, but a 9-point victory scoring 55 points against a team outside the top 200 is a little worrisome. I think some of our concerns are legitimate. Not the LMAO DUMP MICK garbage, but our tiredness, laziness, and inability to do any sort of creating on offense was a little eye-opening, and quite reminiscent of past-year's offenses.

Someone please start a Temple thread.

15-2 5-0 in league with 3 road wins.

Team played poorly yesterday. Coach said as much in post game. We didn't follow the game plan a bit. Our inside out game was nonexistent yesterday. Brooks and Washington may have been the only bright spots.

Responding to one guy who post the same thing continually is exactly why he post such things.

We owe temple another butt whipping. Go Cats!!!!!

That team last night played good man to man defense. That's what you get when that happens. Every game isn't going to be a masterpiece you hang in your den. The best teams I've seen at UC had games like last night. That is why you play defense every night. Now let's move on to the next game.

Exactly! Defense never takes a night off.

I'm not doubting our defense. Our defense is elite. We win off that. I just worry because only a few short weeks ago, our offense was in KenPom's top 35 for efficiency. We've now fallen to #62, pretty quickly. I was hoping this year would be different, and we really would have a great offense. That can certainly still happen, but recent trends aren't very good. Still better than most of Mick's teams, but they are struggling to make that "jump". I don't think asking our program to have a top 50 offense is too much to ask. I'm thankful as hell for the defense though; don't get me wrong. I'm talking strictly offense here.

Okay I will talk offense. Not all that Pomeroy stats stuff but what I see with my own eyes. 2 games prior to East Carolina the (SMU and Houston games a lot better competition), if Evan makes a 3 in SMU game that would have been 2 straight games all of our starters made a 3. I can't remember that ever happening at UC. Yes this team is different, patience my friend. Now on to Temple.

Coming from the guy who says making the NCAA tourney 6 years in a row isn't a big deal....SMDH

It's funny. Frank Martin, Pitino, Cronin, Huggins...top 4 ranked defenses on Kenpom in that order. There is no way in hell that Cronin comes from those two coaching lines and doesn't focus on D one hell of a lot...lol!!

We still are not elite on offense...but we can score from any position which helps out when we are having an off night shooting. I don't know if Cronin will ever figure out how to be a top 25 offense in efficiency...but he needs to if he wants to win a lot of games in March.

We are getting closer...but the progress is slow

I'm just glad Coach was pissed. That's shows he has high expectations for his guys. In years past he may have taken a different tone ("Winning beautifully"). We're good enough in this league that we don't necessarily have to take losses to learn. I'm tired of hearing about the players overlooking teams though. That's a bunch of crap. What have these guys done to be above playing hard all the time? Can't have that happen.

Lol I am waiting for Jacob to start the Temple thread. Interested to see what he has to say about them:D

Quit saying "now on to Temple" or "now on to the next game"...start a new thread on the game and post over there if you're actually done with this conversation.

Also, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, which is exactly "what you see with your own eyes" is...it's an opinion. But numbers don't lie. Our offense has been approx. 62nd best in the country. I still see a ton of potential in this team, and we can still get the offense back to top 50, but I really think that needs to happen to make a run in March. If we can end the season with a Top 50 offense and a Top 5 defense...look out. That's a great formula for Mick. Has sweet sixteen, and maybe beyond, written all over it.

If there's a reason to want to be ranked in KenPom's top 50 offense and defense, other than it obviously means your team is good, since 2002 ( when KenPom data dates back to) the eventual National Champion HAS always ranked in the top 40 of both AdjO and AdjD. If a team is ranked 22-39 in one, they HAVE to be top ten in the other.

Sounds confusing, but it's true.

I noticed this also looking through the history of Ken Pom. You can't argue with data it is impartial and unbiased. I guess we just need to get better on offense.
