Best thing Davis said in post game is they need to get out and run and they can't play so much offense in the half court

I loved that quote too bc its so true. All loved how Davis kept saying we must keep feeding the post and develop an inside out game. Vital for our success, nice to hear our coach say it.

Morman and Moore were rough tonight. But hey, it's conference play and they're getting minutes.

Clark is unbelievable. I can't believe how good that guy is. Lately he has been starting to make more high level plays that he was able to make in high school. That is scary. What a beast.

Maybe I'm wrong, but Clark is starting to remind me of Chris Webber.

There it is!!! I've been constantly comparing him to Bearcats like Maxiell and Fortson saying he is the offspring of them both. But, Chris Webber is an awesome comparison. So smooth and confident. The only critique I'd have is that Gary is a better shot blocker than Webber. Not that I'm complaining...:D:D:D

Maybe I'm the only one, but I didn't hate mormans game tonight. The stat line wasn't pretty, but he played hard and generally smart on both ends of the floor seeing significant minutes. He attacks the basket, and once he gets a little more comfortable, he should be solid.

Go back and look at all KJ high scoring games and tell me a commen domanator. Every single starter tonight will score in double figures that tells you all you need to know.

I stopped reading after "commen domanator."

Morman is fearless and aggressive. Plays a little out of control and sloppy but I think he could be very good next year or year after. He has a little of that Bearcat attitude that was so prevalent back in the Huggins years.

Clark doesn't have the handle that C-Webb had. Michigan used Webber to beat Kentucky's press up the floor in '93 - tell me how many times a power forward has essentially played point guard against a press like that. But I agree that Clark has some very nice skills that one could compare to Webber or Maxiell. The Max comparison is very good, although I think Gary has more pure skill and Max was very raw his freshman year. Either way, when you're debating whether your freshman looks more like Maxiell or Webbber, these are good problems to have, no?

Although now that I think of it, Clark has surprised me a bit with some of his ball skills in the open floor. Let's revisit this Webber comparison in another month or so :)

Dude can rock the handles. I've seen too many steals for layups for that argument to be proven.

Tough 3 games coming up gents. 11 am tip @ UConn, at Memphis, and home against Temple. Must win 2 out of 3. Regardless how Memphis is playing that will not be an easy game. They will play up for us. I'm interested to see how we come out of this 3 game stretch.

I love the consistency we've seen from this team in the face of adversity. Truly believe that's largely due the fact that Mick Cronin is a constant presence for the team in light of his health situation. One of the players mentioned that they never go long without hearing from Mick or seeing him at practice. Troy also mentioned in the press conference they are playing with a chip on their shoulder for Mick and LD.

The interior passing on this team is fantastic. The bigs were the question mark coming in and now they are definitely the strength of the team. Corey needs to rebound better but I'm not sure there's a better 3 man rotation than Clark, Ellis and CD in the league.

Lastly, I love how these guys represent the university at press conferences. They are well spoken and give well thought out answers while pushing the Bearcat brand.

UConn will be tough because they will be physical and press up close on the guards while having a good shot blocker at the rim. When UC struggles offensively it's because they start their offense out too high on the perimeter. Traditonally, these two teams play hard fought, close games.

Cincinnati should beat Memphis period but any game on the road in league is a tough game.

I like our chances against Temple because we are playing at home but will be interested to see how we respond offensively to their defense and style of play.

I agree. The UConn game should be a low scoring battle for sure. They seem to always have a solid game plan to really bog us down.

Did you notice the Temple game at home is "stripe" section. One section red next section black. This is a new one for me. Hopefully our crowd responds bc if done right that would be awesome.

When you look at the standings it's good to see UC on top. I believe they are 32nd in the RPI as well.

This team looks a lot better under LD, kids are playing loose and free. Let's see what happens against some better competition.

Careful. They look great lately, and I give a lot of credit to Davis, but that sounds like you're saying he's coaching better than Cronin, which is a bold statement.

UC 70
ECU 51

Caupain with 15 pts/7 asts, his best game of the year.

The game is on ESPNU, so everyone can watch it.

I was pretty close ;)

I enjoyed this game. Unfortunately, my first thought was "wow, ECU is just abysmal. On another level bad." And they're not even the worst team in the AAC!

The big guys all really impressed me. Ellis and Clark were great rebounders and very versatile around the hoop. I absolutely love the touch DeBerry has shown so far around the rim. Although his stats may not show it, he might be my biggest surprise this year so far. I thought he may be another Biggie/Hrycaniuk/Nyarsuk, but he's already better than all three.

Nice to see Kevin Johnson start to hit some shots (despite bearcatboy's inexplicable effort to undermine everything he does). His turnovers are still really embarrassing, and he's got to work on this. I just hope, for now, that he gets his confidence in his shot back and can start becoming that long range threat that Mick has talked up. That's really all we need right now, is a serious, consistent 3 point threat. I can deal with a couple turnovers if he shoots 38% from three.

This team is really starting to come around. As others mentioned, this team WILL be ranked next year, and possibly top 15. You can see then grow and get smarter as every game passes.
