This team has been poor away from home all season, so can't say I didn't see a loss like this coming. When they don't play extremely hard and tough for 40 minutes any one can beat them. That is why UC will probably not be successful in the NCAA tournament under Mick. Too small margin of error even to beat bad teams.

Oh well, don't freak out too much. I still think UC will make the tournament which is about what we all expected coming into the season.
Need wings that's aggressive and have skills bad. Shaq and Mormon needs to play more.

To be fair if there was any game to send message by benching a player it's without a doubt against ECU. He came into game both halfs before first tv timeout.

Exactly, and as much as I disagree with benching him, its on Caupain for how he played. He could have used it as motivation and he played like a child.

Terrible coaching, caupain wasn't aggresive, the list goes on n on. I love this team but they don't play consistently. Let's 🙏 for players to start taking the open shot instead of being unselfish. We don't need to force 3's all the time.

And why the hell didn't somebody call timeout when Cobb was trapped at half court with a minute left. That turnover cost the game. Terribly dumb play. Terrible coaching.

Why did Shaq get 15 minutes today? His lack of awareness defensively cost us 9 points. He was too slow to help twice in the first half for easy baskets. And in the 2nd half, he got beat for a layup bc he was out of position, and also didn't even try to get around a simple screen on an inbound pass that led to an open corner 3.

No it's not. You can not lose that game. It has now substantially diminished our chanced of winning the league, gave us a bad loss, destroyed our RPI, and quite possibly put us in the bubble conversation. You dont #@#@ around with this game. Not when your team is starting to hit its stride. Not when your point guard is developing into your best player. It was stupid and unnecessary and just cost our team and our season a lot. All to make a bullshit point about technicals. So livid.

He's 19. The light was turning on. You dont know how he would react. That's why you dont screw with him. Make him run sprints, do community work, I dont give a shit anything. It was ridiculous and Im convinced lost us the game.

What I'm afraid of is how bad this loss looks. If we are borderline come selection sunday a loss like this could tilt us. I still can't believe the lack of leadership. I'm starting to think that in recruiting, you have to identify atleast 1 guy in each class that is going to lead and be demanding on his teammates. Davis was not good today but a team that has true leadership can overcome the crap that Davis pulled today.

Disagree. He has played the exact same way as today two or three times this season already. Really only Clark and Ellis are even remotely consistent, the rest of the team is question mark every time out.

He just played the best game of his college career and had been scoring at a much higher clip over the last two weeks. Became first on the team to average in double figures. You dont think the light was turning on for him? Then you havent been paying attention to the way he has played recently.

Yeah this one hurts really really bad. Basically eliminates us from a conference title. Its really upsetting the way we find ways to lose games.

Not really, I wasn't expecting a big game from him at all. He still could have gotten his 10 point, 4 assist average...he did play 25 minutes.

I can easily see 4 more losses heading down the stretch if they play as inconsistently as they are currently playing: @SMU, @Temple, home vs. Xavier, and @Tulsa. That puts them at 21-10, squarely on the bubble in this league.

If they can find themselves and come together over the last 10, 7-3 or 8-2 isn't out of the question. 22-9 or 23-8 with the wins they have is good enough I think. If they play worse than 6-4 (which is extremely feasible), then it's NIT.

10 games to go. Season on the line. What kind of person, player, team do you want to be? Put up or shut up. It's all in front of them.

Getting benched first 3min against the weakest team in conference that NEVER beat you shouldn't lose you game. Benching came at wrong time I agree but in no way do caupain get pass.

Im not giving Caupain a pass. No one gets a pass this late in the season. You play and have to perform. However the coaching staff has to put players in situations to win. Troy looked uninterested today. He is what makes this team go. He was punished and played the game very tentatively. I put that on the coaches. The team is on a winning streak, gelling together, and the player who is most important starts to put it together and they screwed with that mojo. I might be completely off base here. Maybe that didnt matter whatsoever and my anger is taking over and I am making something up. I just thought this team had finally turned a corner with Sanders entering the starting lineup. I thought they screwed with the team dynamic for such a weak reason. I dont know just a maddening loss.

It was obvious the team wasn't mentally there today and that they totally lacked respect for their opponent. Two players came to play. The substitution patterns were horrible and the game lacked adjustments. It seemed to me that LD was treating the game like a glorified practice and more interested in getting players minutes than winning the game. Poor effort down the line today and everyone should be ashamed.

Cobb comes out and just goes nuts and LD decides to sit him for over 10 minutes. The last 5 minutes of coaching was some of the worst I have seen in a long time. Just abysmal.

Couldn't agree more!! Cobb had I believe 10 of the first 14 and you sit him 7 minutes!!! He scored 3 points after that. I appreciate what LD has done but this was a horribly coached game!!!

I'm not bothered that he was benched at the start of the game. What did bother me was his reaction, he seemed to pout the rest of the game. It will be a long time before he lives this one down.

My problem with the game today was taking cobb out one of the few times this year when he was feeling it and sitting him for an extended period of time. When he came back in he was never the same. The other thing is will Shaq Thomas ever take a charge ,there were two times when Shaq first went in that somebody drove the the baseline and Shaq stepped to the side and feebly tried to block their shot. That's the kind of thing that Huggins (in practice) would have stopped play - called a team manager over and told him to escort Shaq to his dorm room and help him pack--- seen him do it to Eric Martin once.
