No, you should just quit bitching at the same things every day, like it makes a difference instead of acting like a 14 year old girl. Literally you've made damn near the same post every day for the last month just like many others. All I'm saying is that it's annoying and provides little to nothing to this site. At this point we know who loves/hates Cronin yet we have these insightful debates daily, for what reason? SO the blowhards can feel good about themselves? My post had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with being happy just because we have basketball (your sarcasm gets old quick, moderator.) It had everything to do with this board going downhill quick because it's all thats talked about, ever. As a Mod I think you'd want this place to do well, yet you contribute more so than most to the same tired BS.

I've posted like 10 times total in the past month. You are very dramatic. Not sure this tantrum allows you to be in any position to call anyone else a 14 year old girl either. Lol. People are allowed to post their opinions about UC basketball here. Sorry not everyone sees everything the "right" way like you do. If you don't like it, put people on your Ignore List. Or stop reading certain threads altogether. If I have an opinion on something, I'm going to share it. I really couldn't care less how you feel about it. And at least I post about UC basketball, instead of coming on here to whine about having to read things on the internet that I don't agree with. Get off your high horse, and stop trying to tell people how to think. It's the offseason, and we have zero going on in recruiting. Excuse some of us for talking about the program. I'll be sure to PM you my posts from now on before I submit them, and you can decide if they're good enough for you to read. Lol.

Very well thought out response. Since that was exactly the reason for my first post, way to decipher the entire message as an attack on you. lol You're a joke.

Lol. Yes, when you say "you" or "you're" in a way that's directed specifically at me, I do see it as something directed specifically at me. The second bolded part is an example of what I mean. I can go through your post before and show you some more examples if you're still confused as to why I'd take it that way. Let me know.

I love the new arena plans. Currently, it's probably one of the worst when it comes to the general fan experience. Sight lines are garbage. Sound system and jumbo tron are 25 years old. They do little to incite you to come to the arena other than, "hey we are playing this team! They are really good!" They should do more promotional events. More pregame antics to get the crowd and players going. Playing the same video, which is usually well done, gets old after seeing it 10 times.

I think the new arena will be a more intimate setting since the seating is getting reduced and will have a lower bowl. Currently, there is A LOT of wasted space where seats could have gone or something else. Also, the new arena will upgrade all the outdated technology and such. I expect UC to really sell that the arena is up to date with all other arenas in that department. Based off of what I've seen as student ( besides the current college of business) the school as a whole has really embraced technology and tries to take advantage of it as much as possible. Overall, I am excited for the new arena. Sucks that the time table to get it completed was kind of muffed, but nonetheless I can not wait until 2018. Go Cats.

Man reading through this post and this place has become a joke. Who cares whether you love or hate Cronin. I don't know about the rest of you but I love Cincinnati basketball (i know you do too). I'm excited for the renovations, think it will be great. Can't wait to watch Troy, Gary, Evans, Cumberland, and Washington play next year, wish the season started tomorrow.

Its utterly baffling that some of you let whether you like or hate the coach influence you like it does. Could Cronin be better, absofreakinglutely, but he's our coach and I love our program so I'll place my support with him and the team. Some of you need to realize he's not going anywhere whether that's right or wrong, so scratch your ass and get happy.

We have a lot of positives happening right now, solid team coming back, facility renovations, possible invite to B12 (still holding out hope). Basically the point of this post was to encourage all of you to quit the same old tired debate as it's getting worn out, tired, and old. By now we all know which camp you fall in, so give it up.

Go Bearcats!

I could write for an hour about my support of this school and this program. There is a long history of both unwavering loyalty and support of this program by myself and my family. I put my money and my attendance where my mouth is. The fact that I don't think we have the right head coach has absolutely nothing to do with me being a fan or supporting this program. If you asked Mick Cronin if he would rather have me bashing him on a stupid fan forum, or would he rather have my butt in the seats and my money in his pocket, I'm sure he would say bash away!

Over the last month or two, this has become a dead site. Nobody's been posting. Even Jacob said he's only posted 10 or so times in a month, and he's one of the biggest fans of this program on here. My last time posting before May 18th was April 25th. Before you decided to take your usual shot at me, your last post was April 24th. Your post prior to that was again just taking shots at me. So, it is very apparent that you have very little to add in a positive way to this site, you just only care about attacking anyone, and especially me, that doesn't share your view of the coach.

Since I decided to post, there has now been 9 pages of posts in just a couple days. Before that, there hadn't been 9 pages of posting in a long time and many of those prior posts were about garbage topics like the NBA playoffs and Kevin Ollie, etc. If you want an example of how a forum can get destroyed, visit Bearcatnews. They banned every single person who spoke out against the head coach. They got the forum down to just people who all had the same opinion. Now they have a forum where it takes 2 years to get 9 pages of posts. This forum has had threads where 9 pages of posts are made in an hour or less. Different opinions are what makes sites like these enjoyable, and successful. America is all about freedom of speech. That is what makes us great. Obviously, those who oppose Cronin have been posting very little since the university made the stupid decision to extend him again. So, without those with a different opinion posting, what happened? The site got boring and nobody posted. Also, the other sad fact is that not a damn thing positive has happened during this spring recruiting period...as usual!

If you guys love the direction of the program, why don't you come in here more often and post the positives rather than just showing up when I post to bash me. I'll include ME80 in this statement. Go look at his posting history. He only shows up to bash me or NTS or someone else or to tell everyone how bad this site has gotten, instead of adding anything positive about the program. You don't have to worry about reading my posts very much. I always go into hibernation from April to October and rarely post. This is very unusual for me to be posting in May. Nobody else was posting so I decided to say a few things and now everyone has come out of the woodwork. My opinions are driven by how much I love this program, this school, and this team. As much as I would like to have a different coach, I would never let that drive me away from the program. I've been here through thick and thin, through good times and bad, and through good coaches and bad. I'm definitely pissed at our leadership for some reason decisions, but my butt will be in my football seats starting in September and in my basketball seats starting in November. And, I'll keeping expressing my thoughts in here. I enjoy hearing everyone's thoughts no matter whether I agree with them or not!

I am excited about that part of it the most. That can go a long way towards upgrading the overall experience.

Agreed

Arena looks amazing! Does anyone know where the 1,676 less seats are coming from? Are the student sections getting reduced? This would be bad from a home court advantage standpoint, but since they get in free, this might be where many of the cuts come from if you want to maximize revenues.

Jacob is one of the best moderators at any of these sites. He's a diehard fan and he encourages all viewpoints, regardless of whether he agrees or not. Again, as a comparison, what you want him to do is exactly what Bearcatnews did. Go visit that wonderful site and see how it's doing. If you want this site to improve, start posting more on the program and less on other posters. If you guys were passionate about the good things going on in this program, and posted about it, you would all drown out anyone who doesn't agree with you. The only real passion I see from most of you is constant personal attacks. I want to take this program to the next level, and that's what drives my posts. A forum is a place for all viewpoints and a good moderator will insure that is encouraged. Jacob is a very good moderator.

There will be much less upper seats and more lower bowl seats. Bohn said they were even debating increasing student seats if the demand is there and wrapping it around sidelines like Cronin wants, although I'm fairly certain that last part isn't happening. But basically they are reconfiguring everything and while there are less seats total, having it wrap around will allow for more good seats. Basically the seats that will go away will be the $5/game seats. And with more club type seats and boxes it will increase revenue.

And honestly as you so love to keep pointing out (not that it isn't a valid point) we aren't selling out anyway and average less than 10,000 so there won't be any lost revenue. Maybe lost potential revenue if we actually have a demand higher than number of seats, but if we have that problem I'm sure us as fans will all be happy.

I don't view those seats in terms of what it is. I view them in terms of what they should be and what they were at one time.

Those were only $5 seats because of the lost interest in our program. The goal should hopefully be to elevate the program again and get the revenue from those seats again, except we will now have 1,676 less seats of potential. No matter how you spin all the good news about the new arena, cutting seating capacity by 13% is a big negative.

If UC plays at the Gardens, I will offer my home to you all and make it the official pregame/tailgate experience for us, bearcattalk members. I live in walking distance. Cheers.
Any takers?

Very good post L-T. Jacob does A LOT for this site behind the scenes and really keeps bearcattalk moving he deserves praise not critism.

I see your point, but honestly they are increasing club seats and boxes dramatically so there is way more potential. Even if you got $20 per seat for those 1676, you're talking $33,520. Times 20 games it's $670,400. You can sell a few private boxes and get that. I get your point is have all that stuff plus the extra seats but you have to realize they are limited to the space they have. They can't fund a $300 million arena to build a Yum Center. And I'm just throwing that number out there. The four walls are where they are. The new arena will have the potential to make more money sold out than the current one does sold out and that's how the university looks at it.

All the mods do a lot behind the scenes. We really do take it seriously, and nothing is done unilaterally.
