For everyone bashing the Big East

All I have to say is 4 of the 6 power conferences are going to be without a Final Four team. The Big Ten didn't even have 1 Elite 8 team. Big 12 had 1 Elite 8 and they lost. Pac 10 had 1 Elite 8 and they lost. Big East had 1 Elite 8 and they won. SEC had 2 Elite 8 teams (one lost and one is playing now) and ACC had 1 Elite 8 team (playing now). Why is everyone bashing the Big East? Shouldn't they be bashing the most overrated conference the entire year, the Big Ten?

It actually shows how stupid it is to judge a conference by a small sample size of games. But thanks for showing up when it doesn't fit your agenda against the Big East. Its too bad we didn't hear from you after the second round of games.
 
You've got to look at the body of work of the conference. There's a reason the Big East has the reputation it does.

I would have said the same thing, 2/11 sweet 16 isn't special. For how much hype the Big East had about how great it was, 2 of 11 has to be disappointing.

I could be wrong, but does that make it 4/20 teams past two years got to sweet 16?

UCONN is in the final four. Only the SEC and Big East got teams into the final four from power conferences. The A-10 didn't make it past the sweet 16. Stop. :cool:

Oh wait X lost to one of those Big East teams didn't they? :)

If the Big East is overrated than X must REALLY suck to have lost to Marquette in the tourney AND get absolutely destroyed by UC in the Regular Season. Poor old X...

Again, I'm not arguing A10 and Big East, I would be dumb to do that.

At least X lost to one of the best Big East teams (1 of 2) sweet 16's :p

And UC was better than X this year, clearly. I thought they actually had one of the best D's in the country, and could be in Uconns spot right now. X will be back next year.

Also, anyone still want to claim Mack was a bad hire? Look at what UT just offered. He was not a bad hire. That's for a different thread though. This is about Big East Sucking;)

The Big East is the best conference top to bottom. You are placing way too much emphasis on NCAA Tourney results. Jay Bilas and Dick Vitale both stated on selection Sunday that VCU should not have been invited and both were correct. The NCAA Tourney does not make the 30 game regular season meaningless.

You do know that both UC and Syracuse didn't lose to a single team outside of the BEAST. Who's to say they wouldn't have been in the sweet 16 or farther had the committee not screwed them and made them play BEAST teams in the second round.

Mack is still a bad hire IMO but we won't discuss that in this thread.
 
The Big East has more final four teams since 2003 than any other conference. The Big East dominated non conf competition. The NCAA Tournament imo is not a measure of any conference's strength or lack of strength. I've seen strong conferences struggle and teams come from out of no where all my life. All KC is doing is jerking everybodies chain. at least I hope he isn't that stupid. If his basketball iq is that low he should post on a X board with all his friends.
 
If you want to know how I feel about Mack at Xavier, I was SO happy he turned down UT (allegedly). As long as Mack is there, they will never be worth a damn.

Jeff, I don't think you fully grasp your comment. You make it seem that X fans actually have any basketball IQ whatsoever. ;) I think we all know they are just a bunch of momma's boy blowhards that know nothing about the game! :D

I dont think Mack is a bad coach, just dont think he'll be able to bring in enough quality players to maintain success.

All the BEast bashing is BS.

Four teams had major injury issues with at least one of their top 3 players (Lville:Buckles, GTown:Wright, Nova:Stokes, StJ:Kennedy)

Two teams (Syracuse and the Bearcats) lost to other BEast teams.

Of the remaining 5, one is in the Final Four (UConn), one made the sweet 16 (Marquette) and two were knocked out by other Final Four teams (WVU lost to UK and Pitt lost to Butler).

That only leaves ND without a legit excuse and well....ND just sucks, so that is ok by me.
