I remember all of these games. I don't think the West Va shot was from half court though lol.
Yeah, I think it was an inbounds play that they got it to the middle of the Court which we should not have let them do, and they made a buzzer-beater.

i got Bored and compiled a roster list with key stats for next years team.

A few things really concern me:
  • We don't have a single 3pt shooter over 40%
  • We will have heavily rely on Jarron Cumberland to carry nearly all the load, as he leads the team in points, rebounds and Assists.
  • Our Roster Make up is Mid Major. We have just 2 4 star recruits on the entire roster and only 1 top 100 player. I know Mick and Co. have done well with diamond in the rough guys, but a few swing and misses on these guys means a slow death to the program.

I'd like to keep Savino and Larry Davis but get rid of Jackson and find a young recruiter who is going to work his ass off to sell the UC brand.

This maybe the least on paper talented roster we've had at UC in multiple years. Last years team had 5 4-star players, the year prior had 4.

The average recruit on our roster is ranked 225.

That puts us in mid major territory. We need to find guys who can sell the program or we will never do anything.

Ironically...Joey Brackets (like him or not) has a little bit of faith in our team next season...

worth a look.

If Evans leaves as projected and UC doesn't land a top graduate transfer, there is NO WAY UC gets a #4 next year. I think they'll be a bubble team at best. I also think UCF wins the conference next year with Taylor, Fall & Dawkins trio.

Houston will win the conference, Mark it down

UCF and Houston will both likely be preseason top 3 teams in the league regardless of who we pick up to top off our roster.

This year the AAC was heavy at the top, heavy at the bottom, and pretty mediocre in the middle.

Next year I think the league will be much more competitive from top to bottom but might not produce a top 10/15 team over the course of the season.

A bubble team.... at best. And I'm sure I'll get the oh wow from jake again. But once again, I know how hard that loss hurt. But are we really losing that much faith. Bubble team... AT BEST... smh. Our back up bigs had very limited minutes the most of the year. And each one of them showed some pretty good flashes here and there especially in certain aspects. We are gonna most likely have a guy scoring close to 20 in Cumberland. Broome is gonna have way more free reign next season, we are losing 3 of our biggest scorers from last year so he will have to do more. Moore and Williams both also looked to be pretty solid players, I know Moore was rough down the stretch but I think he was playing a lot less too, and maybe tightened up in closer, more important games. He was a freshman... same with Williams, he has great athletic ability, he made quite a few bonehead plays, and shot too much from outside, but another year and he will learn how to play in his role better. We will still be a fringe top 25 team by the time conference play rolls around. Our defense will still be top ten and that will still translate into plenty of wins.

Pretty sure that projection was without JE. I hear you though...however, optimistically looking ahead, we have a few quality games (X, UCLA, Miss. St., Baylor? OSU) that could really boost our resume with some wins.

Its just food for thought.

As always, and it bites me more often than not, dont sleep on Temple. They return a good core of players that--if they figure it out--could be a not so fun team to play.

You are more optimistic than me about some of these guys. But we will have a chance to be good still as long as Cumberland continues to develop and can stay on the floor (avoid charges) and Broome becomes the player most of us think he can be. That'll be a pretty good 1-2 punch. I do have concerns about our bigs scoring....A lot will depend on Scott and Diarra. I really like Eliel but he gives little offense. I really just wonder who the 3rd option will be for getting points...maybe Moore's jumper will actually be as advertised? Maybe Williams will take the ball to the basket and use his athleticism? Really disappointed in Moore's shot and Williams overall last season.

I would love for Mick to land a shooter JUCO/transfer for that 3rd scorer role. I'm a bit surprised that UC isn't considered a great destination for a player like that as they could legitimately be the #2 option in the offense for a team that will likely play in the tournament.

Right? And people were ready to accept the playing time excuse without a single question for why we weren't in on Fredericks.

Question for me is this:

A lot of these guys will be around for a few years.

So how does Cronin rebuild this thing?

By going the 64 ppg rockfight route just to make the tournament and lose early as a 7-10 seed? Where we rebuild the "toughness" and just do the same thing as always?

Or do we truly open things up and actually play faster and build this team with hopes that in 2-3 years the high end is better than having to just take a loss when a good team crazks 70 on us?
