Looks like we are looking at a kid Chris Maidoh. 6' 10" and seems to be a kid similar to a Diara mold. No offer yet from us as far as I can tell but a late bloomer 2019 guy. Seems to run and jump like a deer and from what it sounds like can at least hit a 3. Length for blocks looks real good. Looks like he might be able to dribble a little too. Doesn't look like he has a polished inside game but he can run the court extremely well.

From the videos out there he seems to check off a lot of boxes. Needs weight training but so does Diara. Seems like a very excitable guy! If Brooks should decide to go I would have no problem putting him on the squad right now.

I'm actually impressed

Sign me up for David Sloan and Chris Maidoh. Finish it off with a shooting guard transfer. I'm good

I don't think Brooks loses value in Brannen's system only that Diara gains value. And he may have been lost in the system but I wonder what an easier system would do for him mainly on defense.

But his rebound numbers and block numbers per 40 minutes were roughly identical to Brooks and for that matter Nsoseme. Brooks fouled a lot more than both of them though.

Now this is small sample stuff and I think Brooks is obviously the candidate we could count on here. He would still be option 1A. Just saying...Diara is an athletic freak. Even if he can't box out he is going to grab his rebounds. Even if he's out of position he's going to get his blocks. It would be preferred that he is boxing out and in position so everything else doesn't break down. But maybe Brannen's system or coaching style can help Diara simplify things.

Maybe not

Diarra and Nsoseme are both freaks athletically. I am much higher on Nsoseme than most people and think both of them have potential to be great.

But Diarra wasn't just lost on defense, he frequently looked lost on the offensive end as well. He was brought in as a major project and expected to take 2-3 years before he would see much time on the court. Maybe he makes a big jump next year, but I expect him to need another year before he is ready for major minutes.

Nsoseme I think is ready to make the jump. He was mostly reliable on defense and improving on offense. Injuries set him back last year, but he should be ready for major minutes next year.

If Jarron comes back this year and still plans to eat chicken nuggets and fries he may as well leave. If he comes back dedicated to getting his body in tip top shape I think his stock goes up.

There are also places he can improve his game. Ball skills and improving is 2 point % could help him get to 22 plus ppg.

As of right now...he's just not there for the NBA. He can shoot the ball from deep and he can pass the ball but he's not a great defender and he's not good enough to take over a game in the NBA over other players currently there.

To get in round 1 he has to be much more athletic and he's got to be an absolute nightmare on offense. The question becomes is he up for the challenge or would he rather just start making money and have some fun overseas. I don't think the G league will do him any favors unless he does the things he could be doing here.

Jarron cut like 15 lbs and was in tremendous shape last year. Bad take.

A two star project with offers from teams like Charlotte and Townsen. Just the sort of guy people would hate on Mick for getting. Looks like a taller, but less polished version of what Hardnett looked like in HS.

I'd be okay with it, but I'm okay with projects. Looks like he'd be a redshirt guy, but lots of potential. Needs to add 15-20 pounds before he sees the court. But could be an excellent player a few years down the line. Seems like he's already a very good passer which would be nice to have in a big.

I'm right with you on Diarra, but Diarra looks like MJ on offense compared to Nsoseme. Nsoseme has the worst offensive game of any player I can remember at UC.

41.7% around the rim. that's unbelievably bad.

I agree, but I hold out hope that his injuries (finger, then ankle) played a major part in that. He never got fully healthy last year, played with a finger splint for on his shooting hand for two months and just when that was healing injured his ankle and couldn't jump. I don't expect him to be much of a shooter, but I think he can at least get above 50% around the rim.

Sounds like he did some good work. He's still eating chicken nuggets and fries according to Jarron before the Iowa game. And he said the coaches keep talking to him about it. He's not totally bought in on body transformation. There is more work to do.

I mean that's one of the big knocks on him like it or not from the NBA. If he wants to go he has to be all in. He can play some ball but he has to be able to get quicker and more agile.

His endurance doesn't seem to be an issue. Maybe he's in peak condition and my take is bad. If he is...then he's got a problem and coming back won't help.

I don't typically get hyped up over every mix tape out there. Like I said...he seems like a late bloomer so who knows if he will still be 2 star. I saw more out of that video than I ever saw from Scott in his mix tapes. There wasn't much out there on Diara. I also think he looks better than Hardnett from what I saw of him.

I agree on putting on some weight...but he looks more like a stretch 4 so he doesn't need to add 50lbs or anything like that. 20lbs of muscle.

6'10 wing player with decent ball skills? This kid isn't a 2star I can tell you that. It's more to his story

Can’t tell much from short clips...but I did enjoy watching him attack the rim. We had a 6’11” center that might be leaving that barely did that.

Per source "2019 G/F Marcus Domask (6-6) of Waupun Wisconsin has narrowed his list down to five schools -- Cincinnati, Loyola, NKU, Southern Illinois and Wright State. He visited Wright State last weekend and will visit Southern Illinois and Cincinnati this weekend. "

This kid was a previous NKU commit under JB and then re opened his recruitment when JB took the UC job. So I understand why JB would reach out to him but for the love of god if we can't win a kid over from these other 4 schools. He averaged 26.8 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 5.8 apg while shooting 62% fg, 80% ft, and 48% 3pt. He was also 2nd team all state in Wisconsin two years in a row.

I don't understand how we are competing with the horizon league for recruits. It has nothing to do with this kid, its in general over what I have seen in the last few weeks of players we have visiting. They all have offers from mid-low majors.... and UC. Cameron Justice chose Western Kentucky over UC. I am not busting JB's balls over this because he had a late start on recruiting so I am optometric about the future but I hope this will not be a trend moving forward.

Hasn’t Diarra now had 2 years of training at UC? I look at the progress & change in body composition of a lot of our players after like 6 months & it’s noticeable - what is taking so long? He should know the game & be a beast by now

Yah. I think this guy would not be great. He can shoot but looks slow and looks like he has bad handles. I’ll pass on him. Can stand and shoot but probably a liability on D

Yah... I think it’s just putting on weight for him. He’s the one who needs the chicken nuggets

I'm sorry. This is one of the most depressing pieces of recruiting news I have ever read.
