Steve Logan maybe? Not sure.

It was a different time. The last 5-6 years of Cronin era, all the 5 stars were going to basically 4 schools.

All I want is multiple top 100 guys on the team most years. Maybe 3-4. Seems like Cronin could only do that once. The Gary, Kyle, Jacob, Jarron year

Even top 150 guys. 3 stars. Get a whole team of them and by the time they are juniors/seniors, you will be really good. Wichita state this year and next will be a good example of that

Logan was something like a 2 star with his only other scholly being Cleveland St, if memory serves right.

Right! I could be wrong, but through Mick's entire tenure, I don't think he every signed a pure PG.

All 2 Guard converts to only have the "Title" of PG, but not a pure point ever. Mick ran the offense, what other reason was the players looking to the sidelines for instructions.

Look at the disconnect in Mick first year with D. Vaughn. Man did his game change from the previous year vs a year of Cronin.

I would think Justin Jennifer was more of a pure point than SG. Totally agree with all the negativity against Mick, just think JJ couldn't possibly be seen as a non pure point l, atleast when recruited.

Your right he was, but as soon as he arrived it was stripped away. His recruiting highlights showed great court vision and getting others invoved while somewhat chubby lol, but the PG was the Head Coach only lol. Never let him run the offense to find a groove. I know the players knew all the offensive sets, so why not let them play to their recruited abilities.

JJ would've been 4yr starter in this new offense. He was scared pass ball 10ft in Mick offense

Huggins 5* recruits that I remember:

Wingfield - 1 year
Flynt - 4 years
Fortson - 3 years
Johnson - 1 year
Satterfield-2 years

Mick's 5* recruits that I remember:

Stephenson - 1 year
Lawrence - ???

Do I have this right and did I forget anyone?

A couple of things to add here. (1) They didn't really have 5*/4*/3* rankings back then, but they did have traditional player rankings through publications like HoopScoop, Street & Smiths and Basketball Times. (2) 5* rankings usually captures players ranked 1-25/low 30s.

Remember, Huggins got "5-Star-ish" talent via Transfer as well...

Roy bright was a top 40 player? Wow

To be fair half that list Mick guys he recruited. He was the best in nation in 90's

I think mick grew tired of putting his time and effort in to 4-5 stars recruits, only to lose them to bigger school. I think he then decided to go another direction, which is understandable.

Having said that, it is exciting to see us going after big names again. It only takes one or two to get the ball rolling and for recruits to think it’s cool to commit here. Look at Memphis. After wiseman, kids were lining up to play there.

It looks like we might be adding to the 4 star list soon! I guess Zach Harvey has picked up some crystal balls to UC per multiple sources.

He and Saunders would be an awesome start for 2020!

I'd tend too agree but new staff has right too bring in and keep the players they wish too.

Pushing out a player this late in the year would be a terrible look. If you don't want a guy, you let him know in April. You don't keep him around and tell him you want him, then push him out when a better recruit comes along.

If you think you've got a shot at a guy like Harvey, you hold onto a scholarship (or have a backup plan involving someone - like Vogt - being a walk-on for a year).

Hopefully we have backup plan (or Harvey is a 2020 guy). If we push out a guy this late in the year I expect a major drop in player loyalty in future years.
