I'm sure the defense will look good today, but unfortunately I doubt Miami will prep us any for what the Buckeyes will bring. Our defense was bad last year and held Miami to like 44 yards total offense or something ridiculous.
We looked great on offense in game one but we will have to improve light years from game one on d. In particular a few things. Obviously we can't give up the easy big play...we got burnt too much...that's largely mental. Our d line was atrocious against the run and getting pressure. Thirdly we tackled horribly in large part due to trying to stand them up and go for the ball rather than wrapping and bringing the man down. I think two of these problems can be fixed fairly easily but the d line looks nothing like the recent past. I recognize it's a small sample so let's see what happens tonight.
That Toledo game was one of the worst yards after contact games I can remember from recent uc history on the d end.

I really thought this was a 10-win team, but I think 8 wins is the ceiling. If we were in a P-5 conference, 6 wins would be an achievement. This is pathetic.

Ok so we did not kill them as expected but we won, so all is fine. Miami played us tough last year as well. I was pleased with the 42k fans good crowd. I'm not going to make much of it being a close game. On to osu big game!!!
Yeah one good thing is that crowd. It's ridiculous considering our normal draws. Seriously have to consider if it being downtown is causation here rather than simply correlation. I'm not one of those "move it downtown!" shillers since I love Nippert, just finding it interesting how the numbers are working out.

You say of course "we" don't believe that, but I want to add an asterisk to that. I've been a student there for 5 years, finally finishing up, and only recently have come to terms that if you really want parking, you can find it, that it isn't safe and all that... kind of hard on that second part considering the almost daily "someone got mugged" emails they send out, but I understand your point.
Not sure how they can go about changing the perception though. All the new construction around the area is promising, but the only way to know about it is to see it, so I don't know.

I was gone for the past 2 weeks on my honeymoon and I missed the game. I saw an article about some football players being arrested at a party. I was surprised no one on here was talking about that.

Teams is alright. Need to keep improving week to week especially defensively.
