Didn't we play them couple years back?Im actually excited to watch the second exhibition game against bellermine.
I upgraded to 4 rows back center court for that game instead of my normal season tickets ( only bc it was so cheap)
Bellermine went 31-4 in d2 last year and has a pretty high scoring team. It won't be much competition for UC however they are much better than a lot of the D2 teams.
Bellermine is playing Louisville first, then UC then Indiana. Probably see them play there hearts out for these exhibition games
We have played Bellermine for a couple of years now. I remember Mick saying he likes playing them because of how well they move the ball. It's true, Bellermine usually has a bunch of shooters and they are always making the extra pass to the open guy. It's good practice for the zone. Looking at the schedule, we have played them 4 of the last 7 seasons. Bellermine is averaging ~ 68 points against us. Offensively, they are a good tune up for the regular season.
I believe Mick is also friends with Scott Davenport their head coach
Was he on the Louisville staff with Mick?
and hooker treesCorrect. Along with Kevin Willard of Seton Hall if I'm correct. Pitino has to have one of the best coaching trees.
It's definitely a benefit for us. Mick has spoken a lot about how he is excited for the new rules and he wants to embrace it rather than complain about the changes. We are basically going to play a 2-2-1 press into a matchup zone all season. Unfortunately come tournament time you need either a great offense or 1 or 2 NBA guys. It is still to be seen if UC has either(potential for the latter).I just finished listening to an interview with DeCourcy (Sporting News) on the UConn radio network. He thinks the new 30 sec shot clock will work to the advantage of better defensive teams. DeCourcy specifically mentioned Cincinnati as the team that could benefit the most from the new clock rule. That is 1 of the reasons I like this Cincinnati team to make a run at the National Championship.

Yea me too.
With the Reds being a dud this year and not being a huge NFL fan, I just wanted to fast forward to UC basketball again.
I Bought Season tickets out of that excitement (though only the Bearcat liar tickets).
I can't Wait to see what UC can do this season..
PS Louisville played Bellermine (exhibition game #2) on friday and won 72-55. Hopefully UC handles them the same and were able to see more of the new guys
