Today marks the start of the toughest tournament of the year. The Big East Tournament. Harder to win than Maui, Puerto Rico, NIT or NCAA. Played at the Mecca of basketball Madison Square Garden.

Every single game is televised on the mothership (ESPN). Today's games will be on ESPN 2 and ESPNU with the rest being on ESPN.

Now other conference tournament will see near the coverage as the 2nd round of the Big East Tourny.

I don't care what the teams record is. I will watch every game I can.

I agree.

Unfortunately, I will be at work most of the day (ESPN Gametracker will suffice).

I love that we play at 9pm. I will be able to handle my business, then relax on the couch with some beer and go go dancers. Ahhhhhhhhh, the life!

I will miss the first two games. Probably go to the Y and hoop and go home and enjoy the game.

You think its harder to win the Big East tournament then the NCAA tournament?

5 games in 5 days against 6-7 teams ranked in the top 25?

Yes, the BET is more challenging than the NCAA Tournament, IMO.

Keep in mind that the BET had three #1 seeds last year.

The BET might be more challenging for those playing on the first day. But not those that get buys/double buys.

You can win the NCAA without having to play many top 10 teams and you get time to rest. In order to win the Big East from the first day it is much more challenging then the NCAA.

You say its more difficult to win the Big EAst tournament-implying it should be easier to win the NCAA tournament? Since we have joined the BE there have been a total of 4 Final Four appereances from BE members. (0 champions). If it is harder to win the BET then the NCAA tournament dont you think we would have more Final Four appereances then 4 in the past 5 years? The same amount as the Big 10.

Agree in part and disagree in part.

I really don't want to get into the subjective nature of this argument, but as a whole, I think the BET is tougher than the NCAA.

Now, with the reformatted "double bye," these teams only play 3 games in 3 days. Of course, they'll most likely playing 3 games in 3 days against top 15-20 teams (i.e. no worse than 4 seed in NCAA).

Keep in mind that the best conference doesn't always have the best team.
