Houston is currently 10-5 (2-0 in the American). They are ranked #200 in the RPI and #168 in Ken Pom (154 in offense, 184 defense).

Their best win this season was a 75-71 win on New Years Even at home against Connecticut. They have lost games to Stanford and Texas Tech on neutral sites, on the road against ULL, Texas A&M and at home against San Jose State.

Live-RPI projects them to finish 7-11 in the American and UC is favored by 9.5 points on Tuesday.

Their best player is 6' 8'' Junior TaShawn Thomas who is averaging 17.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.7 blocks a game. He also shooting 63.5% from the field. He is going to be a tough matchup for UC. I hope Rubles and Jackson can at least force him to be an inefficient scorer.

Another guy to watch is highly rated recruit Danrad (Chicken) Knowles. He has come on of late and is averaging about 8 points and 5 rebounds a game. He was really good against UConn.

They are currently without second leading scorer Daniel House and Baylor transfer LJ Rose. I am not sure if either is expected to play on Tuesday. In their absence Jherrod Stiggers has been the best perimeter player averaging 10 points on a low FG % of 36.

I do not see the crowd being huge factor as they only drew 4,035 against UConn and there were a lot of Huskie fans. The team I saw that night was really confident, which does scare me. I think the Cats come out focused and hold on for a close win:

Cincinnati 71, Houston 64

Maybe Titus will have a break out game on offense. I believe he is from Dallas so hopefully he has a large support group! :)

Maybe. I'll take him doing a good job on TaShawn Thomas, that kid will probably end up being first-team all league this year.

Houston has improved and in the last two games beat uconn and then went to south Florida and won. With said Cronin will have us focused, as will our three seniors, i expect another good win.

I truly dont believe this team is going to have focus issues. They know who they are and what they are. As I said a few days ago, they are a team that knows their roles and a team like that has a chance to be really good.

I don't think they'll have focus issues either. My fear is that they are going to run up against a few of these teams that they should beat on a night when they are just unconscious from outside. That's when the inefficiencies on offense could lead to a loss or two. This team really needs to get to the FT line early and often to help put some points on the board, especially on the road.

Have know doubt the message to the team is that a loss in Hiouston negates at least one of the big wins against SMU or Memphis. In a way this is now a very big game. A win means that assuming a loss my Memphis against Louisville gives us a two game advantage over UCONN and Memphis after 3 leagues games.

Our offense is improving. We are getting contributins from ST,KJ,JL and JS. If they continue to grow and improve we will be fine. 70 is the magic number.

Really worried about this game. Quick turnaround from an emotional game at Memphis, on the road, against a team that has real good talent at multiple positions. Already beat Uconn on its home floor. Gotta be ready to play at a high level on Tuesday.

While I don't think we can afford to take anyone lightly, I just have to say, I don't think beating UConn is saying anything this year. They're a two man show.

Why do I keep hearing this about UConn?? It's not even close to being true. 5-star recruit, DeAndre Daniels, is actually the second leading scorer on the team and he's attempted just as many shots as Boatright.

Napier - 16 PPG
Daniels - 12.9 PPG
Boatright - 12.8 PPG

Along with Giffey, Calhoun, and Kromah they have a solid 6-man rotation, but not much bench production beyond that.

I'm guessing this is why we didn't see Jermaine in the 2nd half.

@bkoch
#bearcats Mick Cronin says that Jermaine Lawrence is doubtful for the Houston game due to a toe injury he sustained at Memphis. @ENQSports
