JJ was a beast last night. We won last night because of effort and will and he was a large part of that. He is definitely the most important player because when he is off the court the offense becomes one dimensional. He is the only real low-post threat we have. Our offense this year is as versitile as I've seen in a while and that can be attributed to JJ being a low-post threat. When SK is off the court there are other players that can take jumpers or even drive and get contact. Not that those other players do it as well or consistently as SK does. I think part of SK's shooting woes are due to the fact that he is trying to get contact to get to the line, which I like. Jump shooters get hot and cold, so I'm not surprised his three's fall some games and not others. I like the way he is moving without the ball though. I don't know if it shows on TV, but in person he is sprinting all over the place without the ball. That definitely probably wears his legs down some for his jump shots. I like what Mick did last night at one point putting Shaq at the 4 and having Sanders at the 3. SMU was long and I think that worked against them where it might not vs. everydody but interesting to see a different look. Watching that Moore kid play makes me wish we had a guy like that on our team. Kid was fearless and just knocked down shots all over the floor. I surprised he doesn't shoot more. Our defense did a good job of limiting his open looks. Also, don't know who these refs were but if it's what we can come to expect for conference games I will be happy. They called more off the ball fouls in our favor than I've ever seen. They seemingly called the game evenly and other than one really bad missed call (which is going to happen) I didn't get the impression that they were looking to call stuff on us like I've thought in the past about some Big East refs. (To clarify I don't think refs had it in for us, but I think they knew our tendencies and what to look for to call)
