But you're being an armchair QB yourself, just disagreeing with us. And yes that fg was huge, we could have been up two scores. We would have been in control, simple as that. We saw what pressure dos to ward Jr. Early in the game, might have changed a lot. And are you joking about Kiel? What has he done... Haha. Let's see he had the chance to be our first QB to actually make it in the nfl since I was born, or ever for all I know. He is injury prone, that is his problem and not always the best decision maker. But he has a pro arm, simple as that, and it's the best one on our team. He should be the starter no doubt.

UC would have had to convert 2 pt conversion to go up 9 w/FG

I understand everyone's QB frustrations, but thinking Kiel isn't starting is a coaching and performance error is being totally out of the flow. I promise you there are reasons why Kiel is not playing and will never play a down in a uc jersey ever again. I told everyone this before the QB was announced and it still holds true.

I was walking to my car at the time but didn't Kiel play 3 downs tonight

I'm not being an armchair QB bc I'm not questioning what happened and acting like I have the answers (which are really just assertions that can't be proven one way or the other).

Out OC just came from the NFL and determined not only that Moore is the starter, but Moore is HANDS DOWN the starter. So how do you figure that Kiel is the NFL prospect? Let's be real...he's been living off of his HS ranking for 5 years. But he couldn't make decisions in a straight spread offense (which requires few reads), let alone a shift to more of a pro-style attack.

Moore isn't perfect. But he's young, and you can see that he has good touch and throws a good ball. He can grow. Kiel is tapped out.

I thought Tion Green should've maybe been in concussion protocol (or whatever it is in NCAA) after the glancing blow he took on his last carry in the Purdue game. I wonder whether he really should've been playing or not. We may never know, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has a light workload vs Miami next week.

And Moore doesn't stare down his WRs like they are the hottest girl he has ever seen.

Jake, Houston is very good against the run. Haven't allowed more then 70 yards rushing in last 4 games which includes FSU and Oklahoma. They are very good and I believe ranked 6 th nationally.

Guys this game didn't turn on any one play in my opinion. The longest scoring drive we had all night was 8 plays. The defense played great for us tonight. We were winning early in 4th and had 2 pick 6's that sealed our fate. We were a eyelash away from having a third pick 6 go against. The defense forced fumbles and had 2 picks. Actually they played very well. Houston stuffed the run and our QB play along with our offensive line were out manned. Cats gave a good effort in the end the better more talented team won.

Just my 2 cents but TT going for it and running on 3rd and short wasn't the big play of the game. The 4th quarter, 3rd and 11 in the red zone when we allowed Ward to break containment after standing in pocket and run in for the go ahead touchdown was the killer. I sat right behind their bench. That team was on the ropes until that play. If we hold them to a field goal their we may have held on. I'm not knocking the defense because for the most part they played great but offensively we were just not good enough to overcome them from that point in the game. It really got away from us after that. On to the next game.

Yeah that was a huge play.

Yeah I get that. But that has nothing to do with what I'm saying about Green. Did you see his last carry vs Purdue and how he went off the field? I'm just wondering how ready he was to play on a short week.

He could have been a bit nicked but I got to tell you if I'm game planning against us I'm making Moore beat me and shutting down the run. We threw 2 pick 6's and could of easily had 3. He is just not a very good QB at this point. As for Kiel I don't think it is dog house issues I think he can't stay on the field. Last year he was being helped off every game. Think this is a medical issue.

Yeah and Kiel had some issues in the offseason. Do we even know if hes in good enough physical shape to attempt to play full time? Bc as you said, he couldn't stay on the field as it was.

I have never been impressed with Green. He is just too slow and does not have breakaway speed. I feel like his career long run in like 12 yards. We could not get to the outside on any run and Ward ran all over as did their RB's on every play getting at least 5 yards.

The OL was getting blown up every down and getting pushed back. They could not open any holes and QB had no time to throw the ball.

That was a game changer, needed to hold em to a fg for sure.

I'm no QB guru here, but I don't know how Kiel is third on the depth chart. If you want to start Moore, fine. But we essentially wasted that possession when Moore went down putting Trail in to hand off then the shovel pass.

And Moore doesn't stare down receivers? I'm pretty confident that he has done that plenty, not to mention under throwing just about every ball.

Not trying to rile anyone up, just throwing my opinion out there.

Overall impressed with the team up till end of fourth of coarse. Couple questionable calls but thought the boys brought it and competed hard. Truly believe we are a pretty good team this year and will have a very solid year. Win out in conference and let's get another chance at them in aac championship game. Like our defense a lot this year I think mike Tyson is a very good safety and love watching Antonio kennard linebacker had 18 tackles, also eric Wilson had another very good game. Offensively Nate cole is very good and devin grey can play as well.
Playing calling pissed me off at times, run game was awful especially out of shotgun, open up the passing game and Haden needs to make better decisions and work on not staring guys down. Good game great atmosphere. Gonna be a solid season

Well said my friend. I hope we can continue to bring that kind of atmosphere to future home games. It's so much more enjoyable when the crowd is hyped up.

To add to your points about the game, it was only a matter a time til our defense gave out. They played so so much due to our offensive inabilities. Even with that said, it was the interceptions that sealed our fate. I really hope Moore will continue to progress and get comfortable. It's obvious he is not yet. We def need a leader on offense, naturally a QB comes to mind. But you can't lead when you're not comfortable. I look forward to seeing positive steps.

I does not get much better than a packed nippert. Loved the energy with players jumping up down on sidelines on kick offs and rocking back and forth they really feed off the crowd. Students where amazing

But I agree, going into a game against a team of their caliber a turnover free game is needed to pull the upset imo. We where in it till the pick then wheels fell off. It hurts because we were up in the fourth. Defense played great turning them over a few times coming up with big stops. Hayden is just a sophomore so he has time to improve but needs coaching, wish he could move better qbs that can extend plays with legs are huge bonuses.

Side note heard there was like 95 recruits in attendance, so hopefully they saw what could be something special here.
