Matchup zone was getting shredded last night. And frankly has been a please miss type defense since Mick went to it last year. Needs to go back to an aggressive man to man.

Team is still very much in play for the NCAA. Wasn't going to move up. A ten seed is better than 8/9. Who cares what the talking heads on CBS said last night. 68 teams have to get in. Aren't many options out there to replace UC. Win on Sunday and their in.

There are plenty of teams that can take Cincy's spot. They all stink but when you stink more you stay at home.

Pitiful

Most disappointing and underachieving team that I have seen at UC since Huggins was here. This team still scores 50 or 60 points which is going to get you beat against good competition. Cronin either cannot coach offense or recruit players who can score or a combination of the two. :(

Defense was the issue last night.

I still can't find an answer why Mick went to a zone last year. And why Mick won't switch when it's clearly awful.

I keep hearing about Mick not running offense. Mick does, it's a basic 3/2 box offense.

I'd like to see more spread out sets trying to get guards to the rim.

I'd also like to see Mick trying to create turnovers on defense. Turnovers that lead to buckets. This zone is a pray the shot is missed and creates no turnovers.

A ten seed is better than the 8/9. Again show me all the better options that will take UC spot. UC needed to split last two games to get in. That can still be done.

The issue last night was allowing Houston to go on bug runs with easy buckets off the bounce. Play better defense, the offense isn't pressing, is able to grind and get the shots they want. Instead Houston is scoring easily ( very lucky tutu didn't put 80 up) and this puts pressure on UC to not do what they want.

If ur going to recruit guys that can't score. U better run. Press. Force turnovers an layups.

I'm sick of hearing that tempo will improve. As we walk the ball up the court.

First, let me preface this by saying I love Huggins. I watched West Virginia play Texas Tech earlier this week and they picked up full court the entire game and caused 19 turnovers. They also wore down the Red Raiders and got 19 offensive rebounds. When I look at the talent of West Virginia versus the talent of Cincinnati, there is not a huge difference.

10 years ago, I was excited that we got Mick because I didn't think we could get anyone better and I believed that we would play a style that was reminiscent of Huggins. Sadly, I am not sure that is true. From '92 to '04 Huggins won 10 out of 13 conference championships. Every year I hear Mick talk about picking up the tempo and utilizing our athletes but we don't.

I still think a win over SMU and a win over UConn gets us in the tournament. I still think we can win the conference tournament. However, I am not satisfied that our "best team" Mick has ever had is finishing 5th in a below average conference.

Mick's become a politician. Say what people want to hear so you get the job and keep it.

I hate watching this team play. It isn't fun. Even when we wil. It isn't bc of our conference, opponents, venue, TV channel, any of that. It's bc we play THE WORST brand of basketball that a D-1 team can play. It's gross AND it doesn't win. What a combo! Is anyone on our coaching staff forward thinking at all? It's 2016 and we play zone defense and walk the ball up the floor. Does Cronin remember why he says we'll be faster paced each offseason? It's bc he's fresh off a season where scoring in the 50s didn't cut it. Somehow, someway though, he ends up back at this bizarre default setting that has led to 20 losses in the last 2 years and causes the fans to literally hate his teams. It sucks for our players.

I think they'll beat SMU only because its a home game, and lose to UCONN. Does that get them in? I doubt it.

Win Sunday and I think we are still in good shape. Lose and then Friday's UCONN game is essentially a play-in....loser is done.

That'll be a historic rock fight. I most likely will do something else with my time during that crap.
