Let's get it started!

I haven't seen a spread but I'll guess we will be +7.5.

I assume Ward was just out yesterday bc they played a bad team. (Btw I saw that picture of their low attendance was after a near 4 hour weather delay...they had a crowd of 39k)

Anyone hear anything on Tion Green? We need him.

I'm hoping we're fueled by a rowdy crowd for this one. Big game for Tuberville and the program. Gotta come out firing!

Houston 31
UC 37

I would take UH at +7.5. I think the line will be closer to 10 or 11 at open - it may drop down from there.

UH 39
UC 24

We need to sell this game out and show our support. With as many fans wanting to be in the Big 12, a sellout is a must. #6 team coming in, conference game, that is enough said.

If we don't sell out, it's like people complaining about the president/government but they dont vote. For the fans who live in the area, it's time show support or don't complain. (Except for the ones who have obligations keeping them from the attending)

I'm confident the fans will show up.

I liked the new offensive play calling. I liked the way we executed most of the time. My worries are all up front. Can our offensive line protect Moore enough for him to be effective? Can our D-line stop the run (including Ward) enough to make them try to beat us through the air? To me, those are the keys to a potential Bearcat victory.

I'll be excited to watch on Thursday!

UC - 34
UH - 26

Go Cats!

Those are def points to be concerned. Honestly, i don't know much about Houston except Ward. Is their defense solid? Will UC put any pressure on Ward? Do we want to put pressure on him or since he is a dual threat we do we just contain him? I know Houston is basically the same team from last year. We should have beat them last year but turnovers killed us.

Houston is a very good team. I will be more then stunned if we can pull out a win. That said I would rather play these types of games and lose then play a schedule full of cup cakes and win.

I think Houston lost several players on defense (including one that the Bengals drafted). They had a ridiculously high amount of forced TO last year, a stat which often fluctuates from year to year. We have to play smart. You give them an inch, they take a mile (or whatever that saying is)...just ask Oklahoma. Not paying attention on a long FG and Houston goes 109 yards on them. Can't let that stuff happen. I'm not familiar name-wise, but I do remember the announcers talking about their d-line, so as 2bearcatdad said, we gotta be strong up front.

I'm trying to help you guys do that. :)
Flying up from Houston Wed. to catch the Reds and Brewers (wed. night) and then the Bearcats and Coog game.

Is there a cash lot for parking or will we need to have a parking pass prepurchased on campus or nearby?

Glad to have you coming to join us. There are plenty of cash lots, but my advice to you would be to either stay at a hotel close enough to campus to park (there's a Hampton Inn and a Fairfield by Marriott that are within easy walking distance) or just take an Uber to and from the game as parking will be difficult for the locals and even more difficult for those unfamiliar with the campus. You won't have any trouble finding Uber drivers, they'll know the best places to drop you off around campus.

We love forward to having you - although we hope you go home disappointed the the game result! Lol

Parking was NOT one of the selling points at UC back when I went there. It's a tight campus. Uber and Lyft would be very good ideas, unless you want to stay at the nearby hotels like was suggested above.

If you're going to Reds games, there are good hotel options on both sides of the river and it's a quick and easy cab or uber ride up the hill to Clifton.

We are staying at the airport since our flight out Friday leaves at 7 am. We wanted to be super close to give us as much sleep time as possible after the game. We'll have a rental but will take the uber/lyft suggestions to heart probably.

Thanks.

Looks like you guys have a pretty good record for Thursday night games at home.

If you end up driving, I would suggest trying to get into one of parking garages between Calhoun and McMillan streets just south of campus. There are two of them. They will fill early, but if you got there before 5:00 you may be ok. They are located in an area with a lot of restaurant / bar choices, so you'll be able to easily find someplace to eat before the game.

Safe travels.

This is such a big game for perception. Houston looks flawless right now. Great coach, great recent wins, lots of momentum. It'd be HUGE for the way we're looked at nationally if we can knock them down a peg. All eyes will be on Nippert Thursday night. It is the ONLY FBS game on the schedule. All the podcasts, talking heads, etc will be breaking down this game. Great exposure for us. We're going to come out fired up and focused on making plays. I'm hoping Tuberville has snapped out of the "retirement" phase and woken up to the reality that UC Football fans got a taste of major success and won't settle for having it all thrown away. Let's see the fire! I'm so pumped for this game!

Yep Jake this is massive. Houston has the football worlds attention and with them being a huge threat to get into the playoff lots will be watching Thursday to see how they do. Nippert will be on full display it will look awesome on ESPN no doubt. A win would catapult us easily into to the top 20 (we got one vote in this weeks ap poll) and put us right back on the map in the national eye. Also a win with that atmosphere will look very appealing to recruits questioning if UC is what they want. A blow out loss tho would be just another huge blow to the program and the momentum that had been built before Tubbs took over. Also a chance for Tubbs to win back some fans that have written him off

I really like Moore rolling out throws nice on the roll outs. Lines got to show up or moore will get beat up by that defense. Can not have the small dumb mistakes like tubb teams have in the past. No special team blunders if we want to have a chance. Cant wait to be at the nip atmosphere will be unbelievable

Really need somebody to tell me why they think we can win. I just don't see it. Don't misunderstand, I want the cats to win, I just don't see where we have an advantage. I guess playing at home is one. Any others???

This.... no way no how are we going to win that game on Thursday, we may lose by 1 or 20 but we will lose. You people actually think we would beat Oklahoma? wow.....

Okay, first off, that's not how sports work. Second off, I do think we'll lose, but it seems silly to me to act like we won't even put up a fight. We haven't lost by double-digits at Nippert since 2010. Could that happen Thursday? Absolutely. Houston is a great team. But home-field advantage has often been huge for our program. Losing at Nippert is statistically a huge rarity. Twitter earlier said 41-9 at Nippert in the last 50 games, and 16-3 in the Tuberville era. You can't ignore that.

Vegas favors Houston by a touchdown, and I think that's fair.

Houston isn't a juggernaut. They don't win by being way more talented. They are a hard working, physical team, who is well coached. Tom Herman has even attributed their success to disciplined and very physical practices. So they don't blow us away with talent. That's why it's so important for us to be physical and disciplined ourselves. We were anything but that @ Houston last year and we only lost by 3. Despite the 5 TO, 11 penalties, 38-22 deficit in time of possession, and allowing them to run 63 times to our 18, we were right there. The Purdue game is encouraging for this reason. We had only 4 penalties, 0 TO, and 44 rushing attempts. As many have mentioned, the battle up front is huge. We can't get pushed around. Allowing them to dominate the clock and keep our defense on the field will kill us. That's also where the TO and penalties come in. We can't get off schedule and backed up, and we can't give them short fields. They aren't unbeatable. They lost to UConn last year, and also had battles with us, Memphis, and Temple. We can win. We just have to do the things we did at Purdue, and not do the things we have done during a lot of the Tuberville era. A ROCKING Nippert should also help. We have some players, we just have to step up to them and punch back.
