Help Support BearcatTalk:

Tuberville was asked about this on his weekly radio show last night. He said they're both practicing and should play although he wouldn't commit that they'll start.

I'd be shocked if they didn't play in their normal roles tomorrow night.
thanks for the info Brother!

On First Preview, Ken Thomson said his "people in Houston" said Ward is 60% and a wrong hit could knock him out for the season. They all also agreed that Houston is on big time upset alert.

I don't understand the thought process that we have zero chance to win.

Personally, I think with a sellout crowd we come out hot and pull the upset.

Cats 31
Houston 24

Feeling another good game from a (hopefully) healthy secondary.

I have been following this board for awhile but never posted and I have noticed that a majority of the posters like to jump on anyone that picks against the Bearcats. I understand this is a UC sports forum but is there anyone here that doesn't have their red and black glasses on? We could be playing Alabama or Ohio State and someone could pick against us and people would tell them their pick is dumb or they aren't real fans. I understand that fan is short fanatic but a lot of posters have unrealistic expectations and attack posters that are making their OWN predictions each week. I have picked against the bearcats multiple times over the years and still managed to win my Prediction Pool. Hell, this sunday I am putting steelers players in my lineup on fanduel against our hometown Bengals. Doesn't mean I am not a Bengals fan. Just means I will make the picks that are most likely to work out in my favor.

My problem is when one assumes that UC doesn't stand a chance in certain games. For basketball purposes. They lost (I believe) 3 times in the last 2 years by double digits (a Houston team that we beat, a Xavier team that we lost to by 2 the year before, and a final 4 UK team) so it blows my mind to just chuck up a loss for the Cats. I mean I get it, you can pick who you think is going to win or lose but I guess my problem comes from people when they say we have no chance when clearly we do in certain games.

UC lost to Houston by 3 points last year, we are home Thursday night and the place is going to be rocking. Someone can say I think we will lose but the people that say we have no shot I cant agree with. If we were playing Alabama OSU or Mich I'd agree, we have no shot. Basketball wise. Duke this year I could agree we probably have no shot. I just cant assume or pick we are going to lose when I truly believe our programs in both sports, basketball and football have been so competitive. Not meaning they have always won, but the ability to compete and not get rolled over. (more so in basketball).

I jumped on someone yesterday because I didn't like their prediction in basketball. It was stupid of me, but the losses that were assumed showed us losing every game that we would all consider a "big game." Not only would that be depressing if it happens, to me in doesn't seem realistic. One is entitled to their opinion, but we have not had a year yet like that. Why would one assume on a year that we have a starting 5 the way we do to be the year we lose every "big game" For a fan to think that pessimistic with no proof to back it up blows my mind.

I don't know which way this UC Houston game will go. No one does. We could get blown out of course, anything can happen. All I know is I am very excited for this game, and don't know if I ever have been this excited for a UC football game. Go Bearcats.

If ward is knocked out that makes it a total different ball game but as of now I'm going
Houston-38
UC-27

I don't know if you're interested, but you can listen to those weekly podcasts by downloading the iHeartRadio app and searching for UC Bearcat Talk. It's free and they've got all of the weekly shows that Tuberville and Cronin do at the Montgomery Inn.

Just an FYI.

Thanks again.

My wife and I will be attending the game tonight. And yes she insisted on coming with me. Anyone want to hook up for a brew?

That's a very reasonable pick.

I cannot wait to see how it turns out.

Go Cats!
even if Ward is knocked out of the game we still need to do the work. They are very good at defending the run. Top 10 nationally. Which means that Moore will have to be very sharp. If memory serves many posting here were not to confident in his abilities heading into the season.

I don't think anyone of UH has played at Nippert before. Last time they were here it was played at PBS. That should work in our favor.

I just hope our defense is prepared for tonight. Hopefully the coaches have been preparing a good game plan for awhile.

Houston - 31
University of Cincinnati - 35
I really believe that the crowd tonight will be rocking. The crowd will help out dramatically. Moore will throw for 350 yards and Boone will have over 100 yards and will have a breakout game. I know these are bold predictions. I really think this will be a breakout game for the Bearcats.

Waite I wish. My negative feelings for the team coming into the year stopped me from looking into coming in for any games. I looked into making a quick trip for this one but couldn't work it out on a Thursday. I'm going to look at the schedule and see if I can work something out. Sucks that basketball and football doesn't overlap this year.

I think we need to "reach into the bag of tricks" and get a little creative to get the run game going. We have good backs but we I'm not sure we can just pound it between the tackles all night.

Jake let me know if you make it in this year. Redleg nation did a members get together at GABP recently and I heard it was a blast. Would be a hoot to do it for Bearcattalk.

You can bet all the money you have tonight moore will throw ATLEAST 1 pick....
