A spark that drives me up the wall with his selfish D. He plays the steal WAY too much and leaves his teammates to dry on D. His offense is nice today but that's not what we do on D.

Really disappointing. No aggressiveness, no toughness for UC. Offense was completely lazy and settled for 3's. Sure would be nice to see some guys grow a pair of balls and drive to the hoop. Stupid turnovers led to easy points for Houston. Really bad half and UC should be embarrassed.
Team is very inconsistent game to game. The common factor seems to be turnovers.

We gave up 18 points the last 8 minutes after holding them to 10 the first 12 minutes. How many open looks and layups did they have. That's not how we play.

Couple things...
I hate playing zone against 3 pt shooting teams. Everyone gets lazy and just stands there until..."oh crap we left a shooter wide open". Teams that shoot 3s will find a look in 35 seconds. We'd be getting run out of our own gym right now if they didn't have so many TO.
The other thing...I'm not a big fan of Caupain's whole "cool guy" routine on inbound passes. Catch the freaking ball, dribble up the floor, and LET'S GO! Not a huge deal maybe but it sets the wrong tone. Enough of letting it bounce 5 times and walking with it. Let's get a move on it. We aren't good enough to be that casual.

Ellis has to wake up as well. 1 rebound from him and only 1 shot attempt. I hope Davis can rage out on them like Mick would.

He could cut out the casual part for sure, but I'm pretty sure he's told to walk the ball up as it's how Mick teams have pretty much always done it. No point in rushing it up if you plan to run the shot clock down every possession.
Now whether we should be running the clock down every possession of course is a topic we've all talked about, but that's not up to the player(s).

This team just has zero toughness about them. Like a guy just said earlier, how many defensive rebounds did we give up that UH put back for lay ups? We let Chicken wide open. Ellis has lost his marbles and is too scared to make a move to the basket. We look like a bunch of kitties out there. Embarrassing.

They have toughness, they just go through periods where the intensity isn't where it needs to be.
