He is going to transfer I am almost positive. Butch and Rich Rod are good friends and we run the same offense that Michigan did under Rich Rod.

Our offense is VERY QB friendly. I am sure that Rich would speak highly of Butch. This would be a HOMERUN. I would see if Rich wants another head coaching job right now. If not then you ask if he wants to be our o-coordinator.

That would be SICK, he would be the best qb for UC's offense. Easy.

RR not gone yet- Michigan seems to be holding up because they are afraid Hoke may be only option- in which case they want to stay with RR and get new D cord.

Rich Rod is gone and there was a press conference this morning making it official. Hoke is probably the next coach as I don't see Les Miles leaving a stacked team for next year and Harbaugh still isn't over his feud with Michigan from a couple years ago. The problem isn't the defensive coordinator. The problem is Michigan under Rich Rod has done an awful job recruiting talent on defense. Their leading tackler this year was a former walk-on safety.

I would really want Patterson from TCU. I don't know if Michigan could get him (I assume they would at least have a shot) and I dont know if Michigan fans would be mad its not a "Michigan guy" but having his style and Defense at Michigan would be nice.

The AD said he is looking for a defense first kind of guy- which, to me, seems Hoke is def top 3 in his search. Hoke played D at Michigan and he stresses D as a head coach.

Hoke runs more of a pro style offense. It would be hard to integrate the players into a more power team, at least for 2 yrs or so.

I dont see them going after a spread offense kind of guy. If thats what they were going to do- why fire RR? just get a D cord in that case

Rich Rod had 2 defensive coordinators in his 3 years. The problem was not the scheming. The problem was with the talent on defense. The recruiting on that side of the ball was terrible.

I agree, believe it or not the recruiting was bare when Carr left. Having said that-if they were going to keep RR they had to fire someone and By all means every michigan fan out there wanted D coordinator gone. What did he do at Syracuse that got him that job anyway?!? dumb hire

Great1- I know you wanted Denard but it is being reported Tate Forcier is not going to be back. Rumor comes because he didnt attend the players meeting when introducing Hoke and he is not enrolled in classes right now. Would you have any interest in Forcier?

This could be a problem for Michigan who only has Denard and Devin Gardner (Who I think will be solid for Michigan under Hoke) as the only scholly qb's on the team. If Denard transfers too Michigan could be in serious trouble at the QB position.

What type of offense does Hoke run? Is it something Denard could do well in?

It will depend on who his offensive coordinator is. My understanding is that Hoke is a defensive guy. At San Diego State I believe they ran something closer to a pro style offense than a Rich Rod type of system.

I think Denard will be back. It's the first thing Hoke will do. Without him, there is no UM offense.

Gardner is probably a better fit for Hokes style (he is "pro style" coach). I say that because Gardner is a better passer. Though with a guy like Denard you cant go wrong. I just dont want it to be a spread offense only- If thats what Michigan wanted should have just kept RR

Look for more desined roll outs etc. Probably 3 WR sets with designed runs on occassion.
