We grew up knowing Coach Huggins, we are loyal supporters of Huggins, yes we should probably get over what happened, but its hard to think of where we use to be and where we are now that is why we are so extreme.

As in where we use to be--you mean a constant underachieving, terrible tournament team? I do miss those days.

Though, I guess we did make the tournament and for some thats more then enough. Not me

399–127 record (.759)

ten conference regular-season titles and eight league tournament titles

post-season play in each of Huggins' 16 seasons at U.C

Elite Eight twice

One final four

I would consider this successful. And more imporatnatly, I dont see Mick bringing us to this level anytime soon. If you do, I guess we have differeing opinions.... but currently he is not even on the same planet.

Huggins was/is a good coach that struggled in the big games late in his career. No one is saying Mick is Huggs. Huggs hurt UC image and was let go. Move on please

You and ralphy are the same person. Both making stupid posts. I guess we are so much better off now without huggins.

Never said Mick was hugs. Comparing the two is impossible.

Huggins didnt hurt UC image, he revived UC as a powerhouse (well former powerhouse)

All i was stating was that DontMissHim saying he was "terrible, and underachieved" is simply not accurate.

Call me a Huggins Blowhard and thats fine, but to say he was terrible and underachieved a a joke at best. And frankly i find it very hard to believe that anyone would trade the past for this.

You are a blowhard if you cant see that he hurt UC's image when he was stumbling drunk and it was shown all over national tv. I remember watching that. That sucked.

Like it or not people thought about him when they thought about UC and A LOT of people believed he hurt UC's image.

If you cant see that then it says everything about you objectivity as a fan.

In the last 7 years Mick Cronin has won 4 Conference Championships, regular season and tourney, Bob H has won 1.

You enjoyed finishing every year with a loss to a team we were better then? Did huggins ever beat a seed better then him in the NCAA tournament? The guy was not a tournament coach at all. That, with what happened with him late in his career, turned UC into a laughing stock. Mick is not the answer IMO, but neither was being embarrassed every year in the tournament with huggins...at least not for me.

Do you think we should have been better then that? I do. I mean look at Xavier- they have 2 elite 8's in the past 6 or 7 years...I think we were def. more then 1 final four better then them, dont you?

Weak argument. Would you like me to name the people in the Bengals organization, the reds organization who have screwed up. Not saying its right, not saying I condone it, but lets be real here. He is a basketball coach, he coaches basketball.

UC administration had this to say about Bob Huggins.. This was said in Bob Huggins last evaluation after all that.
"Where would UC be without Bob Huggins, he alone has established a national recognition for Cincinnati, this should never be forgotten."

As far as the not graduating people, that's crap and any UC fan knows that.

UC highest grade point av in conf UC.

95 guys. 20 people weren't in school for 4 years years, not many people graduate in under 4 years. Putting you down to 75. 12 went to make millions in the NBA. 27 Made a great living overseas.

You say it's a weak argument, then list the Bengals as an example? You do realize they are the laughing stock of the NFL when it comes to players getting in trouble right?

The Bengals are a professional team.

Huggins represented the University and it was really hurting the perception of the University.

He was great as far as bringing in money. But at some point a University has to have the best interest in academics. Huggins failed to meet that.

It was just Huggins off the court behavior but also his inability to keep players out of trouble.

BK represented UC the way we wanted. Huggins didnt.

He was awesome his first 6 or 7 years here. After that he underachieved with the talent he had. No way should we have settled for Elite 8's. No way.

2000 gets a pass because the emotional devastation of losing your best player and of coarse losing the POY.

2002 had NO business losing in 2nd round. If you want to be bitter about a coach not getting it down with the best team it was Huggins that year. 30 wins and only 1 tournament win was a absolute joke.

Pro athletes are different then coaches who deal with college kids and rep a university.

What academic issues? The not graduating crap is not valid, thats been proven.

What off the court issues? I can name the ones your thinking. Honestly that happens everywhere, like it or not. But thats besides the point, Bob Huggins is a head basketball coach, not a personal babysitter. 18-21 year olds can make there own big boy decisions just like everyone else.

These academic issues were valid.

Like it or not the HC is expected to be able to control his players. Huggs did not. Nor did Kennedy.

1997-2005 we underachieved.

And now even remotely thinking about 20 wins in a season is a joke...

Clearly you are not thinking objectively. 20 wins in the toughest conf in america is darn good with where we came from. Listen, I loved Huggs as much as the next guy, but to keep this undying love for him is immature. Its like Huggs followers got dumped by their high school sweetheart but always talk about those great times they had wishing they still had them. Get over it, facts are facts and the man underachieved his last 6 or so years. You guys are so quick to criticize but when it comes to "your guy" you cant take it. Don't let emotion take over, only bad decisions will follow!
