L-T, JD111 hasn't played nearly enough to warrant that kind of confidence. He hit one big shot but last year at the end of the St. John's game but we lost that game against St. johns on their buzzer beater at the shoe. Thinking a guy with little foot speed and a suspect lefthand can run the point is a wild expectation. He is not a PG.

SK needs to learn how to do other things when his shot isn't falling. Too many times he continues to just throw sh!t up even when its not falling. Like today, 0-8 from 3 and 2-12 overall...just look at his stats for BE play this year...its been the only thing consistent from him.

It would b4 nice to see him improve his handle and get to the rim a little more consistently but without many ofther options it is hard to carry the team everynight when the other team is focused on stopping you.

That means he shot 50% fom inside the arc and doesn't have enough bb iq to take shots at the rim when his outside shot isn't falling. Yes, teams plan to stop SK, but he is not aggressive in trying to get open or in demanding the ball.

jeff I can agree with you he needs work on his handle. Actually it is probably what keeps him at UC next, year. Saying he should just do it is not the answer if he is incapable. Who should he throw it to. He still led team in scoring. Do you really think we win if he doesn't score? Fact is he can't create for himself and hasn't done it all year. He is a perimeter player that spots up and shoots.

Says it all. If he could create his own shot he wouldn't have a problem going to the basket. Look at Siva, Boatwright, Napier, Smith etc, those are guards who other teams focus on and try to stop them but that doesn't stop them from getting fouled while going to the hole. The fact is, SK has turned into one dimensional player and its hurting himself and everyone else on the team. It has nothing to do with the other UC players on the court or what the opposing teams defensive plans are. The fact is, he can't dribble and can't create his own shot. Everything else is just an excuse to why he can't drive to the basket and make a shot or get fouled.

UCALUM, I agree to a degree. Saying everyone else suffers is a bit over top. He is very good at what he does. Could he improve sure but he is a big part of our 22 wins. With a little better spacing by adding a quality big he may get to the rim a bit more. sK is not the reason we lose.

Jack, also looking forward to that but I think the key will be finding a PG out of the group. Can't see GeLawn being the man to run the offense. Hope one of the recruits has the ability. Also not sold on JDIII. Most reports I read on him indicated his lefthand was not up to par. We desperately need someone who can drive, dish and distribute. Oh, and if he is playing for Mick he better be able to guard.

Might help if he's stone deaf or enjoys getting screamed at.

Nyarsuk has not improved really at all throughout the season and I don't see him really contributing next season either.

He won't leave as a senior, but one can dream. I have been overly disappointed with how raw he is.

Nyarsuk sucks. Butter hands. No basketball IQ. It's not a game they play much of in Sudan.
The real question is - who will replace Parker? His hustle, never-say-die attitude, toughness, quickness all rolled into one.
Best up-and-coming player we have is Shaq. Bar none!

Nyarsuk is not that bad. He has shown some flashes of brilliance and it is his first year playing D1. Also, he hasnt played b-ball for a long time and if he would've passed the English ACT, would've had 4 years to develop. Somebody as raw as him needs more time......

If you noticed, SK wasn't double-teamed today. One player dogged him when the Hoyas weren't in their zone, which, by the way, was as good a zone as I've seen. We had zero success penetrating it. It just sagged to the point where there were no gaps. Nobody strayed from their assigned position, and if they did, someone else covered. A+ execution on their part. And every time they full court pressed, they were back in zone as soon as the press was broken. We were so busy trying to beat the 10 second clock, that by the time we crossed the center stripe, the zone was in place. Kudos to GT III for great coaching.

Exactly correct. He's too limited to do much more. He has a nice touch and a quick release, and plays a pretty good D which you never hear much about, but overall, he's overrated because of his lack of handles. He just happens to be the scorer amongst the others. Actually Cash is a scoring machine when he's clicking. He averaged 30/game in HS, and he's way quicker. Just doesn't like to get in the mix under the board with the big boys.

But why do we have to be his developers? He's years away from being a productive member of our team - like, NEVER!

I think the only way someone transfers on their own accord it would be Guyn. Sanders seems to have a good head on his shoulders and is probably actually interested in getting a degree and knowing he's playing at a big-time school probably means more to him than going to a lesser school that could offer more playing time. Just my opinion. Thomas or Davis would lose a year if they transferred (as would Gaines meaning he'd be a senior). Shaq definitely since he redshirted. Davis could apply for a sixth year, but that's usually only granted when two years were lost to injury, not one being a voluntary reason to sit. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that Guyn is unhappy with his pt, but it stands to go up tremendously next year if he's good enough to earn it. His dad is at every game and assumably is in his ear as they are a close family and I've heard from a friend who talks to him (he is readily available to talk to after every game) that he (the dad) isn't happy with his pt. Take that for what its worth, which I don't necessarily take for much. He also seems from the one time I talked to him to be committed to this team. Plus he lives close and playing here means he can come see his son play. Available schools within close driving range would limit his potential suitors.

I think a more likely scenario is Morman doesn't qualify and/or is asked to go the prep route. Or SK, who is by no means an NBA player, goes pro to earn a paycheck.

I don't agree, I think he just needs to bulk up. He has shown some skill, but strength and conditioning aren't emphasized nearly as much in NAIA, just needs some muscle and stamina.

He can bulk up like The Hulk and it won't matter. He appears to not know if he's on offense or defense half the time. Best roll for him is tell him to plant himself one foot in the paint 3 feet from the rim and don't move!

Isn't he a junior? Not going to happen in one year. He is just way too raw.

Don't think it will happen in one year either, but some people act as if he is talentless and completely inept. If you could have him for 4 years, I think he could've been a Gorgui Dieng like player by the end of his career. It is a shame that he only gets 2 years.

What's your point-it is his first year D1 and he hasn't been in America that long. Most first year players struggle, look at Rubles. If David had 4 years, I like that it looks like he is somewhat coordinated and has a few post moves. He isn't as bad as you make it sound, he just can't play for long spurts, which has really hurt him this year.

You're a real optimist. He's 7'1", but you won't see him on Dancing with the Stars. He doesn't move except to vacate his defensive post and not return. What makes him better than Gaines? Nothing!
At least Kelvin leaves the ground occasionally. Teach him.
