Long time follower, first time poster. This time of year is always hard on us Cats fans isn't it? Seems that every season, after the "Cronin Crash", the "experts" look for people to hang or things to change. Truth is, is this as good as it gets now? Have we become a fan base content on winning 25 games against bad opponents? Seems the answer to both questions is yes. Cronin came into an unwinable situation. Fan base rebelled (and rightfully so). Talent pool in Clifton was bare. Rankings? Never even came across our minds for 3 years. Mick brought the program back to being respectable and exciting at times. To that, I thank him. That said, I am not content with the program. I am not content with being embarrassed every March by a pathetic offense and a team lost on national television. I am tired of seeing players come here with 0 basketball skills with no hope of development. I am sick of the excuses made for the poor planning and lack of direction this program has. Cronin has his defenders, as does every coach. The program has it's true fans who will always be there, win or lose. It is frustrating to see those on here who are content with each year's Cronin Crash. Is this as good as it gets? I hope not.

Well, probably not, considering we actually have a decent lineup of bigs entering the picture, something that we have probably not ever had here in Cincy at one time over the last few years. One is great but without backup is hopeless so a few on the roster will fill out the massive blind spot we've had for at least the last 5 years: someone in the middle! Especially intriguing since Caupain loves, loves, loves passing inside even though nobody now can catch it, hopefully they have good hands and we'll have a whole new weapon.

Funny you start your first post with Long Time follower. This post is eerily similar to one that LongTimer or LT would have typed. Hmmm.

I admire your blind loyality, Mick. But after a decade of mediocracy, I believe the jury is in on this.

Dear god, another one? What's blind about increasing wins every year and getting back to top 10 ranking? I gotta say, watching far more talented teams of the past get their pants pulled down early in the tourney year after year was much more frustrating than watching these past few teams.

And how did we finish those years? How did we finish? Are you content with that? If you are, then good for you. I expect more than March embarassments

Seems I have attracted the forum trolls.

You come on here with garbage and then have the nerve to call others trolls. Westcoastcat my ass. You are L-T. There are very few of your ilk left. Wallow in your misery as Cronin will be the coach at UC for a long long long time, LongTimer.

Your name calling shows your maturity, so I will not get into a "pissing match" with you. Tell me, are you content with our programs yearly March showings? Does that not bother you as a fan?

You are a moron. There are 16 teams that have 4 straight NCAA tourney appearances, including UC. So stop being a moron.

If Lawrence, Morman, Strickland/DeBerry just are as good as advertised not even being nothing special this will be without a doubt Mick's best team. He finally will be able to press and run all 40 if everyone is healthy and eligible. If you can land Graham and another sharpshooter, who would be able to beat us with Mick's team defense and game planning.

I would love for UC to be a consistent second weekend team. I understand the tournament is such a match-up based event but until UC gets a consistent offense to go with a stellar defense, they will not be good enough to win games in March.

The first 4 years were the rebuilding stage. Mick overachieved winning 8 BE games his second year and made one NIT. (Erasing the CBI from my memory).

The past 4 years were the "return" stage. UC has made 4 straight NCAA Tournaments and 1 Sweet 16. A solid increase in talent has ensued.

The next 4 years are where we will see what Mick is made of. The talent figures to be much better so I would hope UC could take that next step and get to an Elite 8 or Final 4.

Anbuc did the same to me when I first started Westcoastcat. Anyone who disagrees with him is L.T. Ignore him. Welcome to the forum.

I can't respect SK not going out in blaze and shooting the ball 20+ and also I don't understand how we lose to Harvard with neither JJ nor Rubles in foul trouble. Ya it mindboggling be each of those players busted there ass off all season and lead us to Co-Champions off pretty decent league. Everybody is EMBARRASSED by lose time move on because next year with a couple late KEY signings we have potential to be LOADED next year. If we can run and gun next year were dangerous.
