You cannot base too much off of high school or AAU numbers, I think is what he is saying. Different leagues, competition, etc. Schools take the best players on teams accross the country and the NCAA is made up of guys sitting on the bench that were studs in high school. The numbers do not usually translate to the college game. How many current players on our team now averaged around 30 points in high school? You cannot expect them all to come in as scoring threats right away and put up 20 a game.

I know that no disrespect, but it doesn't take a rocket sciences to know that the game is faster and you have to be stronger, but you have to start somewhere and I'm just letting him know that they all just came from high school! Besides I'm speeking on all around game! Some people turn that ball over abit to much in practice, I am an insider.

Well I've seen him play over hundreds of games and not just 2 or 3 and everyone has there own opinion! That's why you are not the coach!

Clearly his HS coach who knows more than both of us put together (he actually played college basketball at UK, FYI) and he almost never had him at point and there was a reason for that-he is much more effective as an SG

There was nobody else on the team that could do what he could do with the whole package. His high school coach needed him to do everything! OBC which was with his summer team, he played the 1! Aginst Parker (Duke) Randel (UK) and a host of other!

At the end of the day I think we will have a fun season with all the new talent it's to early to tell who will do what but if you think for once that he is not right there than don't be suprise. Besides, we need more scorers. It's basketball anything could happen!

Caupain is the PG in this class. Period. He and G will split the majority of the minutes barring any injury. Morman would be put at point before KJ. KJ has a ton of talent and I think will challenge JD3 for some of the minutes behind SK. I dont know where you get your "inside" information from but if you are stating that KJ is going to be the starting PG as a fact rather than an opinion your inside information is mistaken.

Cronin on UC's 3 freshman guards "Troy Caupain is the best passer. Kevin Johnson is the best shooter. Deshaun Morman is the best scorer."

Which one sounds like a point guard?

This is going to be fun:), However it may work out, it will be fun, and we will see what I am talking about! We have no true point guards, all of them are combos, Don't to many True point guard really exsist anymore! I can't wait, well, I'll continue to geather more information, Hopefully your listening!:D

I still have no idea what you are asserting exactly.

I think he's just trying to get under your skin by playing the role of "insider" who teases but never delivers information and in the process probably poking fun at some of the posters who have (or claim to have) their own inside sources.

Nothing at all! I am an insider weather you beleive me or not, just being informative.:) We will all see how it works out! It's all going to be beautiful!

It's whether, and what are you informing me about? I still cant decipher all of the drivel. What inside information are you trying to pass along? If it's that KJ is going to be the starting PG you have zero credibility because that is 100% false.

A few things to remember. 1) they are highlights, so you don't get to see his lowlights. I saw him play really well twice and really bad once. It was the same team that played him the last two times I've seen him. The first time, the team he played was in a 2-3 zone. The second time, they pressed and KJ had to make a lot more PG decisions. He struggled to make good decisions and got in lots of foul trouble. His handles are good, but struggles to set other people up for good shots, and that is the biggest responsibility of a PG. You wanna PG who gets lots of assists, makes smart decisions with the ball, and can be a vocal floor general. KJ is a scorer and if you give him time to set up he can knock down shots from all over the floor and get down the lane, where he is most efficient. If you redshirted him and let him learn how to play PG effectively, he could be good, but I think if you had him play SG and Caupain can develop into a good PG, that's a deadly combo. You can't how to play PG with only a month left before the season, so that's why if we ever see him as a PG, it will be after a redshirt.

Thanks for the information. If you have seen him play several times I will take your word for it. All I get to see is video...but I also saw the highlights of Mormon and TC. My opinion after watching them all was that TC was a little slow and didn't show any overly impressive dribbling skills. He seems to be a good passer and rebounder. I didn't think Mormon would be able to make it as a PG but fit perfect as a slashing wing. I though KJ had good handles and quickness but obviously I haven't seen enough to make a full evaluation whatsoever.

I think he is just trying to get a reaction out of people. Now I think we are all aware it is Troy Caupain's for the taking. If he doesn't impress Mick, it will be Guyn's.

I wouldn't know how good Caupain and Morman are, but I think as have a pretty good idea of KJ's potential. He definitely is very skilled and he will be a good player down the road, but I just don't see him as a PG.

I don't live in Cincy and I will bow to the superior knowledge of many fans on this board who follow things a lot more closely than I do. I have seen limited video of each player and here are my thoughts on the incoming guards (which should be taken with a grain of salt).

TC...I like how he is known as a great passer and I can see him in the video creating space with his body both in passing and around the rim. He's not as quick as KJ nor as athleticly explosive as Mormon. I think his handles are better than Mormon but maybe not quite as good as KJ. His control seems to be above average though. He has a big body which can take a beating. I should add he's a great rebounding guard.

DM...incredibly explosive athelete. He seems to favor his left hand a lot which I think would limit his options at PG. He is explosive on the wing and has great defensive potential. He has a nice shooting touch and can create open shots because he can also take it to the rack. He will have a lot of monster dunks before it's all over. His body seems to be very strong and can probably still makes shots on the move even with D1 contact.

KJ...I think he has the best handles of all three. His quickness is better than TC and because he can go left and right might be able to create better than the other two. Cronin said he is the best shooter so that is a plus. From video I have seen him penetrate the lane better with multiple defenders in front of him than limited video from TC. They all seem to be able to finish pretty well. When he gets in the lane he also seems to be able to kick it back out quite well in addition to finishing well at the rim.

Other than quickness and handles I would say TC is better suited for PG. I don't see Mormon as a PG but would be a great option at the 2 or 3. I still think KJ has some of the attributes we would want at the PG but he may be lacking in other areas that we need.

For now I will go with the concensus that TC is better suited for PG than KJ and reluctantly that Mormon might be (although I just don't see it in Mormon's video). However, I would say that KJ might POSSIBLY be our quickest player and best ball handler.

I agree, there is a lot to like with all 3 and they all bring different attributes to the table.
