We all are aware that Mick and co. are looking to add 2-3 new faces. Obviously, Deonte Burton has draw some enthusiasm, and it looks like the Bearcats are taking a swing at Jawanza Poland to add wing and shooting depth.

As Bearcat fans, what would you like to see happen in the next few weeks? I think if Mick adds some scoring depth from the wing, I'd be happy overall, but would like to see some low post depth as well.

With reports of Josh Watkins being offered, it is obvious that the coaching staff is looking to overhaul the perimeter. Do you think Gates, Thomas, Gaines, Jackson and Wilks can carry us down low? Thoughts?

My wish list if we have 2 available scholarships is Burton and then Poland. If three available, add a big with the third that can score and play right away (if even available). If we can't get Burton and Poland, Watkins would be a nice option as well. I think Burton is the top priority.

I would like to see us add another big. If not, I hope Jackson comes in ready to play.

He could really see some quality minutes this year if both Yancy and IT continue to get themselves into foul trouble.

Oh...Burton would be nice too. ;)

Watkins has been offered. Poland is being recruited to play SF. Burton is a scorer. Again, seems like a backcourt overhaul. Going to be interesting isn't it?

We also know that the staff is really high on Kilpatrick, Cash and Parker (assuming his knee is ok).

Definitely no room for Larry Davis if those three come aboard and it seems like Dixon would be passed over as well. If Dion can't develop a decent shot, that is probably the right call.

My major concern LL. Gonna keep an eye on the Anderson/Oregon situation and see what happens.

The best possible thing that could happen from a low-post scoring option would be if Anderson takes the Oregon job. I would have to imagine Ratliff would visit UC if this happens.

ESPN reported at 11:00 last night that Anderson is staying put :(...Just saw it.

It really is amazing people are turning down that job... brand new arena, more money than just about any athletic department out there...

Could it have to do with recruiting? If Mike Anderson, or any of the other candidates, don't have strong recruiting ties to the west coast it could be difficult to succeed there. I don't recall hearing about Oregon as having great HS Basketball and it doesn't seem like a lot of kids from the East Coast or even Mid West are making the trek to Oregon when there are plenty of options for them closer to home. Maybe it is a strategic move on Anderson's part?

Andre Clark is one name out there 6'9" PF from John A. Logan CC, but I can't find where an offer has been made. Last I heard he was down to ISU and TCU though. His teammate Antwond Roshell is another name out there. He is 6'10" and around 260lbs.. I believe Arizona is on him hard.

I think Mick should sign as much talent as he can and start letting people go to make room. Gates/Bishop/Davis would be the three I would find replacements for. They don't garner the passion it takes to wear the Bearcat name on their jerseys. Bad attitudes and lack of hustle are killers for a team and these three bring that element. Give me guys that want to play and know how to play and you'll be amazed at how much better we'll look. Unfortunately next year could be a rebuilding sort of year if half the roster is new and the other half being mostly second year guys, but with the guys we have now we won't be any better than we have been. And if they play smart they could still surprise some people. If Gates/Bishop/Davis are getting a lot of minutes next year we will be mediocre and Mick will unfairly take the blame. If I were him I wouldn't let them seal my fate. He got rid of one headache with Mitchell last year, time to get rid of more.

Gates is a guy that people love to hate... Me especially, nothing pisses me off more than watching him play. However you cant let him go, hes too good. If i where mick, i would hire a coach to yell at Yancy all day, all night. Push Yancy so hard, until he either gets it or quits. But dismissing him from the team would not be the way to go.

I don't necessarily disagree but I don't see Gates going anywhere. We are already a bit thin down low and I don't see another big out there that can average 12-15 PPG next year. I wouldn't be shocked to see Bishop and Davis gone but I think it might ultimately depend on how many scholarships Mick plans on filling for 2011. UC already has 1 commit (friend of Teague's) and possibly still in the running for Behanan. Teague will decide Thursday. If all 3 happened to pick UC, you would be a scholarship short. Wilks, Biggie, Davis, and Bishop will all be Seniors next year and if you run off Bishop and Davis, you are now short a scholarship.

Thomas will also be a senior.

That would mean another year and alot of energy and effort given to a guy that doesn't give it back. Get rid of him now and use that coaching on guys eager to learn and get better.
