Also, WVU had that play at the end of the game where it was a tie up but squirted for an easy lay up for WVU.

Just so many bad breaks late, missed bunnies and a bad decision by Dion. Fuck.

Never seen a team with so many hard luck losses in my life. 6 losses of 4 or less points, 11 by 8 or less. Still trying to figure out why Dixon didn't toss the ball right back to Vaughn.

He was supposed too. Assistant coach larry davis, said that after the game... Ball was supposed to go back to deonta.

If you watch the replay, the passing lane to Vaughn was not blocked at all. Dion just made a really bad decision because he wanted to be the hero. I feel bad for him, but its still really tough to swallow....

Don't believe that. He just doesn't have a good basketball iq. That's why his playing time has dropped so much. Also, if you look at the replay, Cash was open and Vaughn chose to throw it to Dion.

I don't think this has much to do with basketball iq. The instructions out of the timeout were to give the ball back to Vaughn because he wasn't guarded by anyone. Dixon just felt a guy on his shoulder and felt he could beat him down the court. He was trying to do too much.

Wasn't looking to see if Cash was open, but it wouldn't surprise me if Vaughn made a bad decision.

Great job of fighting by UC. I thought Wilks and Parker might get some more time, spelling the others. Cash made some reallly bad turnovers.
Unsure why Dixon was in the game myself. It's another one of those things that makes you wonder what Mick is doing.

Disagree with wondering why Dion was in. Dion was in because he is strong and quick and could get the ball. He should have passed it back. In no way should anyone blame mick for this. He had the team ready to go.

Not so much being in, but having him take the ball up the floor. Should have had DV or Cash be in a position to bring the ball up or perhaps pass it to a place just shy of midcourt.

Jump 3 inches and DUNK THE BALL Ibrahima!

No kidding. Its easy to put a lot of blame on dixon...But how many EASY shots did Ibrahima miss? I counted at least 3. He is 7 feet tall he should easily be able to jump and dunk in that situation. I think each time he just tried to kinda lay it in and missed.

Postgame quotes...

Q. What happened with Dion? I guess it went off his leg?

COACH Mick Cronin: He just got in a hurry. We would have liked him to catch it. They didn't have a guy who took it out. If he would have passed it to Tay (Vaughn), Tay was going to race up the floor and guard it. He turned and dribbled it too fast. Like Yancy said, he turned before he even dribbled it. He was out of control before he even put it on the floor. I feel bad for him. He's devastated right now.

COACH Mick Cronin: Well, I told my guys I'm extremely proud of their effort. Tremendous tournament for them. They deserved a better ending than to get beat on two shots, one at the end of the first half, a bank shot at the end of the second half. The second last basket was a loose ball we dove for that squirted out and rolled in for a lay-up. Guys could not have played better tonight on the defensive end and hung in there and fought hard.

Just right now I feel really bad for my players. I'm really proud but on a personal level I feel really bad. They deserved a much better ending. Win, lose or draw, just a tough way, tough way to obviously lose the game when a guy banks in a shot.

I'm still wondering how UC shoots 33 percent, stays even on the boards, only has 12 TO's, and still stays even with WV.

Dixon obviously had a costly TO, but Cash had five throughout the game, and some were just BAD. I'm always one to say that the the play during the game is just as important as the end of the game.

Regardless of his ability...

Not sure if he played the 1st half, but to put a guy in at the end of a game in a clutch situation after sitting on the bench for the entire 2nd half is not smart.

We have seen him in previous games dribble while under pressure. It is hurky jerky at best. I feel bad for him and as mentioned, Ibrahima and some others had opportunity for easy tip back DUNKS and tried to finesse it in.

Did see some emotion and fire out of Yancy!

Bc if you guard WVU and dont let them have easy shots this team is very beatable. They are a Huggins team that doesn't run great offensive sets. WVU relies on open threes or jumpshots to win basketball games. We limited their open shots pretty well last night.
