What do you guys know? Here is some information.

Oklahoma

Record: 5-5
RPI: 150
SOS: 130

Leading scorer is Andrew Fitzgerald. He is a 6-8 PF who is a sophomore. Second leading scorer is a senior guard named Cade Davis.

Best Win: I want to say Coppin State?
Best Loss: Kentucky, they played pretty well and lost by 12.

Overall - I think we are probably 10-15 points better. However, we are going across the country to play our 2nd road game and it is our first out of the state. It is also our first game on national TV.

Anyone seen them play?

I think Oral Roberts was a better win. And well..they certainly have Big 6 conference talent, just they are very young. Fitzgerald was a top 100 prospect (i think) and is a very talented and skilled player. Cade Davis is their only senior and plays basically the entire game. I think UC, is probably around 10 points better, however wouldn't be surprised to see a close game or a blow out. With a young team like Oklahoma they are bound to be inconsistent. A loss would be disappointing for sure...

I saw them play VERY briefly during the Maui... and I still know nothing about them. They haven't had a very impressive win but at the same time they haven't had a poor loss either. I honestly have no idea what to expect. Anyone seen the promo on ESPNU yet? I saw it two-three times last night while I was watching Pony Excess on the U... got me pumped as hell... they touted it as Dion Dixon and Cincinnati... what a difference a year makes...

I seen a little bit of there game with UK.. The only thing that they are going to show different than all our opponents except for maybe Dayton is Athleticism at each position, and thats about it.. They have 1 or 2 pretty good players, but almost everyone is athletic. I dont think they are as good as Dayton, but will upset a team this year without a doubt... they kind of remind me of Cronins 1st and 2nd year team, pretty good athletes without the super talent and or chemistry needed to win at a high level... I see a close game going into the 2nd half then UC takes over.. halftime score UC-40 OK-30, then the end result UC- 78 OK-65

They were beat by Chaminade in Maui. Definitely a poor loss. It is a road game (any way you slice it) against a BCS school. Davis is a good shooter. From what I've seen UC should win, but we'll have to see how they react to playing across country and on the road. I think the Bearcats will look to make a statement. My fear is they will play hard but not loose. If they can get this win and beat Miami they have a good shot at getting into the top 25. It'll be hard to keep them out at 11-0. A big win in Oklahoma City may do it. They need to play the whole game and never let up. They will be playing a team that can match up with them with size and athletically.

The Sooners have 4 guys that play 28 or more minutes and 3 that average double figures. They shoot 72% from the foul line and shoot 46% from the field including 37% from the 3 point line. They do not have a real shot blocking threat and Gates and Thomas, if they finish, could be huge. Davis, Fitzgerald, and Pledger take the majority of their shots. With Davis and Pledger taking the majority of theirs from behind the arc. Davis hits .435% from there and Pledger is around 35%. The Sooners average almost 15 turnovers a game and that could make the difference in the game. Fitzgerald has commited 30 t.o.'s and Pledger 24 from the guard position. Fitzgerald is a good offensive rebounder (25 of his 62 boards are on the offensive end). they do share the ball and have 5 guys that average over 2 assists a game.

Four of their losses are to UK, Virginia, Arizona and Arkansas who are a combined 29-8. Let's play confident but not overconfident. Hit a decent FT%, and play Defense and Rebound! Hopefully Gates shows up motivated and ready to play.

Things are not great in Norman; multiple pages on "Death of a program"

"OU Basketball died last month. A few of you noticed and probably mourned. Others heard the news and it brought them pause, like thinking of somebody for the first time in a long while and wondering what ever happened to them.

But, make no mistake, OU Basketball is dead."

Probably followed the loss to Chaminade. We should win this game but these guys can shoot the 3. They will be playing in Oklahoma where they haven't lost all season. I just think this game is big for the Bearcats in terms of respect and in terms of confidence. Not because of how good Oklahoma is or isn't, but because it's a Big 12 school on the road not Our Lady Of Perpetual Motion at home.

One of their prized recruits from last year, just quit the team on Wednesday. TJ Taylor, a 6'3" 3 time All State guard from Texas got a concussion in preseason workouts, never appeared in a game and has left the team. He was a top 100 player; Rivals 93- ESPN 71]

This is a big game for Cincinnati in terms of respect. Look for them to be highly motivated. Nationally televised and many will get a first look at the Bearcats. It's really important they play well for their national image.

Yes and No...

UC got a win, against a terrible OU team.. And UC didnt look all the fluent on tv. The win defiantly helps, but this OU team is not good.

OU is not terrible. They are decent. If you look at their losses, they all have come away from home or on a neutral site. That is the mark of a young team.

How can i possibly have the last post in every bearcattalk basketball discussion if you keep posting? Unreal. go back to the football boards...

You make a decent point, OU is a very young talented team. Like I said its a nice win for UC bc there a big name school. Never any harm in winning.
