You guys were a little more than just that, and someone definitely suggested starting Scott over Clark, not gonna weed through the old posts, but it happened, I read it.
You can go back and read mine.
The only way I suggested starting Scott was if Clark was not able to. Someone suggested I should apologize for that...lol!
The other thing that person suggested was because I thought Scott was a serviceable replacement for Clark that I should apologize for saying he was better...lmao! This whole thing started because some people can't read very well and/or don't care to interpret posts the way they were intended.
During preseason I said to start Scott over Kj but on the wing. I also said to start Scott over Clark last game because of the injury. But no way should Scott start over Clark when Clark is full strength. Clark definitely surprised me with how mobile he was last game. I still have visions of his game against St joe
Nobody said this. If you're referencing myself or waterhead, neither of us at all said Scott was better than Clark. Simply said Scott was a pretty good backup to Clark, and that it wouldn't be a massive dropoff.
Clark played great, and Scott was a solid backup. If anything, we were right.
Scott is not a wing. That's the reaction you said earlier. I get it. I think kj has been a surprise recently and it seems he finally has become a viable threat. Scott is needed badly down low anyways for the depth.
Where is waterhead!?
I would go back and repost all the times I said I am not advocating Scott over Clark (because They are all in this thread) but most of the fans aren't that interested in reading them again. I was hoping you would go and do that rather than just lie about what I said. But that would take at least some integrity...so I hope you are up to the task.
I am not advocating Scott to take over for Clark in any way. I have just been looking from a stat perspective so far this year. From that perspective it might be the other way around. Just saying...
If we can keep Gary fresh...which IMO is no more than 25 minutes since he gets winded a lot and jogs down the court sometimes...we might be better off. Scott is more than capable of filling in. His stats are VERY good so far in the time he has played. He gets up the court about as fast as our guards. He's doing all the little things right like low turnovers, rebounding well, not fouling a lot, blocking well, scoring when he has the opportunity (good %), good passer, etc.
Gary is our guy...but I don't think we lose a lot when Scott is in the game.
Obviously we don't want anyone to get hurt. The point was about the drop off in production from the next man in. The way Scott has played... I think he's an adequate back up. iMO we would see a bigger drop off at several other positions.
Not a good thing at all heading into Thursday night. However, if you asked me pre season who would create the biggest drop off in the case of injury I may have said Clark. At this point in the season after seeing Washington and Evans play...and with the way Scott has played so far... I am less inclined to say that.
I sure hope Gary plays because I think he gives us a better chance to win!
