Me as well. As someone who has played sports and competed most of my life being out with a injury and not being able to do something you love is very difficult. Couple that with the possibility of missing this game and the fact he had to endure being limited in the tourney last year as well and it has to be hard. Personally is Gary is healthy against St. joe's I think we win and advance. These guys work hard for these moments.

It's a great thing to here that the injury may not be as bad as it could have been. Missing a game is one thing... missing most of the season is another.

Please define adequate.

Guess we will have to agree to disagree. Losing Gary even with how Scott played is huge. Clark was going to guard Burton. If he doesn't play it means Scott will take on that role. Im not comfortable with that at all. From a depth or talent situation.

Was Clark really going to guard Burton? I like Gary on D but mostly from a shot blocking interior point of view. He's not like Rubles who could defend a guard pretty well. Scott actually has some quickness to him and he's a good shot blocker. Maybe a better option on Burton? I don't know... just throwing it out there.

Fact is they play 4 guards. Gary really plays the passing lanes well also in the match up zone. He knows where he needs to be and anticipates better the any defender on our team. Whoever guards him or has him on the switches needs to be in his face. He will be a tall order to stop at home.

It would still reduce our chances of winning a key game. Which is the biggest drop off is not important at this time. We play Thursday night and if Gary doesn't play we will be less then our best.

My main issue with Gary this year is that he is not working for shots. Last year he had to. He played like we didn't have better options. He can still play that way this year. He will have less opportunity so he needs to cherish them. If he works for his shots he can be better on the offensive end than Scott. If not Scott is more than capable of putting up the same points.

On the defensive side Gary has the advantage of in game experience. He knows where to be and has good instincts. Scott is a gifted athlete with a lot more energy and quickness. If he doesn't get lost on switches... He's a serviceable replacement.

After one outing i'm sorry I just can't agree with that assumption. I have put in print that Scott will be a guy to watch this year. I still believe that but he is not in Clarks class yet. Clark will have to be accounted for on the offensive end. I hope I'm wrong and he has the game if his life at Iowa St.

You aren't the first to comment on it being one outing. Prior to the last game...his stats were already good for the amount of time he played. Suggesting it's one good game doesn't tell the whole story.

I am not delusional in thinking his numbers will stay the same against better competition but the kid has played very solid and looks pretty smooth doing it.

It's going to be hostile so hopefully Clark can play. It would not be optimal for Scott to start his first game at this venue....lol!

We heard this offseason how impressive Tre and Kyle were during workouts. So far so good on both accounts
We need to ride Kyle to the Sweet 16 or more. My favorite player is Jacob, but Kyle looks to me the kind of player whom can take u places. Jump shots come and go, but he can get others in foul trouble and change the wholee game. I hope we design the O in a way to take advantage of every ounce of his skill.

I don't want excuses bout Gary or Troy regressing. 2 players the caliber of Jacob and Kyle can take you places if used properly.

I agree. Two studs is something that we've never had under Mick. This should be an easy sweet 16 and borderline Elite 8. If Gary and Troy get their act together, who knows.....it could be that one final moment.

Did someone try to tell me Scott was better than Gary????

Lol.. Admitt u were way wrong and we can move along.

Nobody said this. If you're referencing myself or waterhead, neither of us at all said Scott was better than Clark. Simply said Scott was a pretty good backup to Clark, and that it wouldn't be a massive dropoff.

Clark played great, and Scott was a solid backup. If anything, we were right.
