Mick a Candidate for UNLV?

1) Mick is going no where imo

2) cinci is a very good job, don't get what you guys are saying about facilities. We have top notch facilities, Yes an older areana, but once it's renovated we will have everything a coach could imagine. (Besides a power conference, but come on the AAC has some big programs in memphis UConn temple, and now smu. We got a very nice deal with espn where we play nationally televised games all the time. We get a CBS game every year to. Now it's no acc but you can be successful in this conference). The plane thing is the only thing i can see having a problem with

3) mick will not be fired anytime soon. Bohn has shown he likes consistency and mick has been to 6 straight with good returning guys, and has had little off court problems with players. If tuberville is still here mick will have to do way worse than what he's done. So like him or not he's staying

4) if mick is using this as leverage then that is very annoying considering he is the 22nd highest paid coach in the nation. For comparison he makes more than head coaches at Oregon, Virginia, notre dame, nc state, and North Carolina. And he's getting a state of the art areana being built after next season. Mick needs to stop complaining and get things done these next two years because everything is in place. Compare his tourney results to some of these schools mick makes more than. One sweet 16 in six years (I'll give the first three or four years do to the circumstances) is not good enough for a lot of fans. Micks done well fans want more

5) Im still good with mick he's done a great job here (rebuilt it from bottom up) but has kind of leveled off since the sweet 16 team, these next two years he better get things done with some great seasons. 6 straight ncaa should be a huge point when recruiting, that number will continue to rise imo which is impressive no doubt that's a good accomplishment. I'm just ready to take that next step, I'm on board with mick cuz looking at this returning roster HE built I get excited but I fully expect to win the conference and be in the sweet 16 next year, it's time to make it happen

Great post.......I just watched the Valpo vs St. Mary's game. If Mick does leave I'd have Bryce Drew on my short list. He has the bloodlines and he is coaching the heck out of that Valpo squad.

We could easily get him as he makes under $300 thousand, I think he a good coach. I'm a huge nick van exel fan think he would make a great college coach soon

#stickwithmick is now trending on Twitter. Appears quite a few want him to remain a bearcat. For more updates on Mick Watch 2016 stay tuned.

Listen man, I'm not going to debate the merits of my expectations, I've done it wayyyy to many times on this board. Everyone has different expectations and that's fine.

I'm 33 years old, I grew up a die hard UC fan. I grew up around a lot of XU fans and loved the rivalry and the fact that they were always little brother. I loved Bob Huggins, but I'm not some grizzled old man who never gave Mick a chance. When we hired Mick I was 100% on board. After year 4 I started to change my opinion. I'm a season ticket holder and I go to every game and I grew tired of Mick's brand of basketball. I felt then that Mick's ceiling was never going to get us back to the program I grew up with. Mick has done nothing to prove me wrong since then.

I'm not hung up on Huggins and I don't have a personal vendetta against Mick because of the way Huggins left. I just want our program back to where it was when I was growing up and I don't care who gets us there. I have zero belief in Mick's ability to do that. I certainly don't love the fact that we've taken a backseat to XU under Mick's watch and I don't see him changing that either.

Hopefully that gives you some insight into my thought process, agree or disagree I don't really care.
This is the perfect example of unrealistic expectations. "When you grew up"???

You were 9 when we went to the final 4. The first one since the 60's. You were 13 at our last elite 8. Since then we've had 2 sweet 16s. So the majority of your fan hood has been spent not in the final four or elite 8. So as long as we hit a final four prior to 2022 we are on the historical pace we have seen previously.

Selling out the place now is different than before. TVs are better. Kids aren't as social as they used to be. Huggs was a legend and Cronin can't win over those who still thinks Huggs got screwed.

I think you forgot to read the first sentence of my post. Carry on.

I don't think these people exist.

I can't believe Mick Watch 2016 is actually a thing. This is getting hilarious.

Every reasonable bone in my body knows that he's staying but then I wonder why the hell he isn't just coming out and saying it. The university is building him a new arena, what could he possibly be holding out for??

The fact that he isn't just coming out and saying he's staying means he has to be seriously considering the UNLV offer, right?? But I mean, there's no way he'd leave to go to UNLV.

....................I'm so confused and excited, legit the most excitement I've experienced as a UC fan in 10 seasons.
