True true, i guess I'll believe that when I see it.

Looking more and more like this is a ploy to force the University to upgrade facilities and the arena at a quicker pace. Apparently there was a large meeting of the minds yesterday including Ono, Bohn, members of the board and some high profile boosters. Don't kill the messenger hearing this from a co-worker whose wife works in UC athletic department. Take it FWIW

What doesn't add up is, it has been known for months and months that the arena renovations got pushed back another year. So I'm wondering why now for the uproar. There has to be something else? I wonder if it was said the fundraising has been lacking and it might not happen next year?! If that's the case, then I would understand coach's outrage.

I would certainly believe that some sort of a meeting took place. The administration made it public they wanted to keep Mick if possible so that definitely makes sense.

I'd imagine that's exactly where the outrage comes from however Mick has no right to be upset when he doesn't put forth the effort to help fundraise. Im a mick fan but to complain about money to support the program and then not help raise it seems hypocritical.

IF Cronin stays and is able to push the facility and arena timetable up that would heavily effect recruiting in a positive way. He can now tell kids he fights for them not only on the court but off and will make sure they have the best possible environment to play and train.

I think that is part of it but I think there is more pieces then just that in play.

I think more will come out concerning what has been going on. I agree with you. Something has happened to make him play this card and it wasn't his salary. Anyway it sounds like he may be staying and I think that is a good thing. I'm anxious to see next years team and the renovations get put in place. Then we will be in a much better position to judge Micks coaching capabilities.

Right there with ya sir.

I read that Cronin already did th fundraising for the locker rooms with out help from the athletic department and it's already paid for but still yet to be done.

No coach we hire will want to try and deal with those conditions.

Agreed I'd like to see what Mick does in recruiting for next season as well. UC is in great position on a couple of really good intriguing kids including transfers. IMO next year's team has a chance to be better than the Cashmere/Yancy team.

I read something similar. NO idea if it's true but I can see that growing old on anyone.

Deal couldn't be reached. Good day Mick isn't going anywhere.
if that is the case their is still much work to be done here. What prompted this? Where are the renovations? Why haven't we heard from Bohn??? Where is our Athletic director? Maybe he needs to start interviewing for jobs?
