Mick a Candidate for UNLV?

are you familiar with hypotheticals or nah?

this whole thing was framed up as an "if this was a leverage play" discussion.

we'd obviously need to see what resources he won for the program before deciding on how this all went down.

is anyone here capable of looking at anything at all objectively?

He just got 5th place in a conference you all say sucks. He went 0-2 in the postseason and we were unranked most of the year again. Maybe prove you can win things of significance before creating a circus. If he wanted to pull this after the Sweet 16, fine. After SK's SR year, fine. While getting extended, fine. But the timing of this is becoming more and more of a joke.

I agree a true guy on the block who can get a bucket would be huge. Last two years Micks been running a 2/3 box sort of offense. Ellis and Clark are being set up on the block. I think Clark is getting close to being really tough on the block. Also Washington should be really good. I like TC, but I'd love Mick to grab a flasher more confident attack the rim type point guard.

Is this really the way to go about it? A power play? After what he's produced lately?

Its a catch 22 though if he believes the lack of facilities are hindering his results. Also, you posed the question, can we trust him? Ummm, if he turns down 3 mil at a school with better facilities, and a worse league than ours which he would likely do pretty well in, then yes, I think in fact that makes him more trust-worthy.
All in all, most of us don't know shit about Cronin, what kind of person he really is on a personal level. We all know the annoying nuances of his coaching persona, but I really believe he has the best intentions for the program along with some legit coaching ability. I swear, Cincinnati fans are the most fickle folks out there. Some of you guys act as if we've missed the tourney 3 straight years or something
We definitely took a big step forward in offense this year. we have a solid core of players for at least 2 more years, which hopefully is rounded out by some nice recruits. We got beat double digits twice this year, one to a top ten team. Just chill, I cant see anything from positives coming out of this scenario.
Who cares if he made a "power play", what else was there left for him to do? Ask really really really nicely next time?!
Hoyt also is on to something, there's more than meets the eye with this. We haven't the slightest clue, save L-T. He is essentially assistant AD apparently LOL

Timing isn't a joke. The timing is due to the university dragging their feet. Mick had simply had enough. It's hard to move forward without the updates going down.

Maybe he should be quiet for once and get to work. Win the conference, win a conference tournament, or make an NCAA run before he puts the university through this.
Yes the poor university . I'm glad they got you to stickup for them jake. They are on the run from a sub par basketball coach. Who needs to shut up and work harder regardless of the conditions because they pay him. He shouldn't bite the hand that feeds him right??? How dare Mick seek employment elsewhere. Employment he didn't take. He didn't leave the university. He has not said one bad thing about them. He listened to another offer. which by all reports he turned down. Didn't Huggins listen to a pitch from WV while he was still here. Wasn't this his end all jobs before he got himself fired. Come down off the mountain jake this is a business. Its why the top programs got all the money and win most all of the titles.

Clark should be posting up less and less as his career goes on.

Can't wait for Mick's press conference when he reminds us that he turned down a school in a one bid league.

not me cause mick is fighting for the same thing we all want hes fighting for his program we need to respect that not bash him for that.

Not only that but MW conference is on the rise and you got fresno state, boise, sdsu, and if mick goes unlv i mean it wont be a 1 bid conference for long

Everything else is always hindering his results. The refs, the facility, being an outsider in the league, general bad luck...never on him! Ever!

Everyone's against Mick. I'm sure next he'll say Sammy's teacher gave her too much homework and we couldn't properly scout our opponent.

Nothing is ever on Cronin, is it? It is IMPOSSIBLE to be ranked, to get better than 5th in the AAC, to win a single postseason game, etc. IMPOSSIBLE.

As far as I can tell you are the only one

It's very hard to take the group supporting Mick very seriously anymore since 90% of them had no clue about Varsity Village or the Lindner Athletic Center or the fact that the vast majority of our facilities are actually amazing.

right, and then there are those of us in the middle that think everyone on both sides is acting like a jackass.

rehashing the same garbage over and over and over again. arguing for the sake of arguing and not even realizing that nothing is being argued.

this 180 page thread probably has 10 quality pages of conversation.
