i just don't see why we need to shit all over him if it turns out he was leveraging the administration for more resources for the program, not even for himself personally. who wouldn't want more resources for our basketball program?

That's all good and fine, but it isn't going to make people trust him. And after this latest disappointing season...good luck winning people back.
Only thing people want is him to win. What do they have to trust him about. If he wins they will keep him. If he wins he makes himself more marketable. If he loses they fire him. You think he isn't trying to win every game. I don't understand trust. You are only following him because he wants to stay here. If he doesn't win but never wants to leave will they keep him? Will you still like him? I truly believe he wants this job more then any other. He also knows what he needs to make it better. How frustrating that must be to not have all the things you need to be the best. What if he has been misled concerning some of those issues? Shouldn't he be able to trust his bosses. Look he is the fae of the program. I understand that but something is ongoing and it doesn't take much t see that. this wasn't a money grab by him. This was a difference between him and his employer. Mr. Bohn. Ray Charles could see this. There will be more to this story I'm sure.

Is this really the way to go about it? A power play? After what he's produced lately?

Yes its the way to go about it. I say that because I believe he probably exhausted every other option. If they are unhappy with what he produced let them fire him. I certainly didn't get that from the schools President.

I have less problem leveraging for facilities (for the players and recruiting) than I do salary. In fact I want our coach (whoever it is) to have all possible recruiting leverage they can get. If it could have been done by asking for it privately it would have probably been done already (arena, lockers etc).

if he is able to get some the things he has wanted like private plane for recruiting etc i dont see how fans could be mad about that as it will only make the program better.

Mick's feelings were hurt. He took the leverage thing step too far. I wish him the best of luck, hopefully at another institution.

I am less concerned about leveraging than producing better results. So none of this has sold me on his capabilities to get us to the next level. Still very much on the fence on that one but after this year I started to move off the fence in the direction of a new coach.

Maybe he should concern himself with getting better than 5th in the AAC before he starts playing these cards. Maybe he should try winning some postseason games first. There's a reason he's "flirting" with a school that comes from a 1-bid 14 seed league. He always blames everything else. But the fact remains, he's never won an NCAA game in 10 years without SK. If he was actually giving us tangible success, I'm sure I'd be the first to get on Twitter to tell Bohn "You better give Mick everything he wants". But all we ever get are the reasons why not. The reason why we can't win. He is in no position to be demanding anything.

You disapprove of his methods but have very limited access to the full scope of the story. I'll ask again. if his methods were so deplorable and he is so easily replace why is the president trying to keep him and why is he not fired for his behavior???? WHY???? Wouldn't you think someone on the BOT or the President may have reason to believe something else was a foot. why would they tolerate this mess just to keep a below average basketball coach????

Maybe he should be quiet for once and get to work. Win the conference, win a conference tournament, or make an NCAA run before he puts the university through this.

Do you people who complain about this offense watch other teams? It's not uncommon. It's all over college hoops. Huggins isn't running s beautiful offense at WVU. Texas A&M isn't and his in the sweet 16. Uconn runs awful stuff. You think Calipari runs great offense? Calipari will have some high scoring games, but he will also grind you.

I don't have a problem with grind it out games, in fact I like them. You can grind it out with a team and still play good offense. What I'd like to see Mick do among many other things is develop a big man who can post up and find some guards who have an idea of how to throw an entry pass. Other than a few flashes from Yancy Gates and Justin Jackson in his senior year when have we ever seen a true post up offensive player under Mick's reign??

I don't know if that's a skill development issue, a system issue, or a reflection of the fact that Mick has some of the worst passing teams I've ever seen in my life.

Then they should fire him, right!!!! why haven't they??? Many knowledgeable people in the industry think he is a great coach and has done a good job rebuilding this program. If the university desn't think that and he is demanding things why don't they fire him????

What results??????????????????

are you familiar with hypotheticals or nah?

this whole thing was framed up as an "if this was a leverage play" discussion.

we'd obviously need to see what resources he won for the program before deciding on how this all went down.

is anyone here capable of looking at anything at all objectively?
