Move to ACC?

hmm...now that Louisville is off the table, UC to the big 12 is starting to gain some steam again since the Big 12 wants in this market and thought they had Louisville on the back burner. Looking to add 2-4 teams with TV money being involved to expand (shocker). 5 teams being mentioned are Florida State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, BYU, and Cincinnati.

Two things jump out:
1.) You would think that plays in our favor that all of the teams are east except BYU. Would the conference really want that kind of outlier?

2.) How crazy would it be if Louisville jumped the gun to another sinking ship and we came out more comfortable and secure?

Have a link? If true that bodes well for UC though. I think they win overall versus UConn except in ability to add revenue. UConn basketball is a higher brand name. Hopefully football wins the day for UC

Georgia Tech in talks to join Big Ten?

This is still just a rumor, a lot of smoke around it but no real sources yet. It would make a ton a sense for a number of reasons. Allows the Big 10 to continue to expand their footprint and gives them the major media market of Atlanta.

If UL did not get an invite to the Big 12, I don't see how UC gets one

Louisville has always been the fall back option of the Big 12 though. Go after the big fish, and then if they strike out then Louisville is always there. With Louisivlle now gone, we slide into that role. Difference now is that the pond of fish is slowly dwindling as the other conferences poach teams as well.

It's all about media markets and TV money for the SEC, B1G, and Big 12. The ACC is trying to survive the football shuffle. Cincinnati is a better market than Louisville and the Ohio area is big for football recruiting. If UC gets an invite, these will be major factors.

This is a little different topic focus but just saw an article that P&G gave 1 million bucks as a gift to the downtown Smale park...sure would be nice to get a gift from them. It sure would be nice is all these fortune 500 companies support the city's university.

Do we know for sure they don't?
